MSI Announce A Range of New Monitors for Computex 2024, Including the World’s First Gaming A.I. OLED Monitor

At this year’s Computex event MSI will be showcasing a range of new monitors, with several being announced today that we’ve not seen before. There’s new OLED gaming monitors, some lower cost/lower spec OLED options, Smart Monitors and some new models in their PRO range aimed at office and productivity work. We’ve got information and specs for all these new models below in our full round-up.

MSI MEG 321URX QD-OLED – The World’s First Gaming A.I. Monitor

MSI are showcasing their new MEG 321URX display, a 32″ sized QD-OLED monitor which offers a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. It’s an alternative to the already released MPG 321URX which we reviewed, and similar MAG 321UPX built around the same Samsung Display QD-OLED panel. What makes this MEG series model a bit different is the inclusion of their “A.I Sky Sight” technology, which utilizes AI (Artificial Intelligence) to automatically detect enemy’s positions and displays info on the screen to help in your games. Cue fuss about cheating and unfair advantages…

Other specs and features listed so far include a custom heatsink and graphene panel for cooling (no need for an active cooling fan), along with support for their OLED Care 2.0 features. There’s some Mystic Light and Glow Sync RGB lighting features as well.

Update and correction 11/6/24 – For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20 bandwidth), 2x HDMI 2.1 and 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 98W power delivery) available. There’s also 2x USB data ports and a headphone connection. The DisplayPort connection was originally listed as DP 1.4, but MSI have updated us to confirm it will actually be DP 2.1 (full UHBR20 bandwidth). Find more information on DisplayPort 2.1 here.

MSI list the current expected retail price for this model as $1,699.99 USD but mass production data is yet to be confirmed. You can already find their 32″ 4K 240Hz MPG 321URX model here, and the similar MAG 321UPX here (affiliate links).

MSI MPG 341CQPX QD-OLED – a New 34″ 240Hz Ultrawide

We brought you exclusive news about this screen in March but this display is being showcased formally at the event. It’s a 34″ QD-OLED monitor built around Samsung Display’s new 240Hz panel, an update to their first gen 175Hz panel from 2022. It offers an 1800R curvature, 3440 x 1440 resolution and a wide range of modern features in line with the company’s 2024 OLED range.

You can find all the info about this new model in our news piece here and on the spec sheet shown below. We are in the process of reviewing this screen as well so make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel to stay up to date!

MSI tell us the screen should be released in July in the US, and August in Europe, delayed a little from the original ETA of April 2024. Updated pricing received tells us that it should retail for £949 GBP in the UK (inc VAT), €1099 in Europe (inc VAT) and $999 USD in the US (without VAT).

If you want something sooner, we recently reviewed their very similarly spec’d 175Hz MAG 341CQP model. That review is available here, and you can buy that model here (affiliate links).

MSI MPG 321CUPF – with Dual-Mode VA Panel

This is a new LCD monitor that will offer dual-mode refresh rate support. It’s 31.5″ in size and can support 4K (3840 x 2160) at 160Hz, or 1080p at 320Hz if you’d rather. This allows you to prioritise either image detail and resolution, or frame rates and speed. It’s a VA technology panel with a 1500R curvature. We’ve seen this technology on a few OLED monitors already, but it’s now making its way in to the LCD panel market too.

The screen has a “frameless design” and of note, MSI list a console mode to “perfectly support 120Hz at 4K with next gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S”. The spec lists an adjustable stand, which we expect to mean a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate although these specifics are not listed. For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), 2x HDMI 2.1 and 1x USB-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 15W power delivery). There’s also a headphone connection.

The MPG 321CUPF has a current expected retail price of $499.99 although a mass production date is still to be confirmed.

MSI MAG 321UP QD-OLED – 32″ 4K with 165Hz Refresh Rate

This model will be a lower-cost 32″ QD-OLED monitor option in their line-up. It will have a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution like other models already available in their range like the MPG 321URX we’ve already reviewed. However, presumably in an effort to offer a lower cost option, this model will have a lower 165Hz refresh rate. We’re not aware of Samsung Display producing QD-OLED panels this year with this lower 4K 165Hz spec, but we’ve reached out to them for clarity and further details.

The screen uses a custom heatsink and graphene panel for cooling (no need for a fan), and features their OLED Care 2.0 options for longevity. It has 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), 2x HDMI 2.1 and 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 15W power delivery) connections along with a headphone output.

The screen has a current expected retail price of $899.99 and is listed to go in to mass production in June 2024.

MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 – 27″ 1440p with 240Hz Refresh Rate

This is a new 27″ sized OLED monitor built around a Samsung QD-OLED panel. MSI already have a couple of models in this size available, including the MPG 271QRX which we’ve already reviewed, and the similar MAG 271QPX. What makes the new model announced here different is that it has a lower 240Hz refresh rate, compared with the 360Hz of the two other models mentioned that have been released previously. We’re not aware of Samsung Display producing QD-OLED panels this year with this lower 1440p 240Hz spec, but we’ve reached out to them for clarity and further details. This display is listed as QD-OLED by MSI.

Key specs for this model include a flat format, 2560 x 1440 resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time, 250 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3 and 98% of Adobe RGB. The screen supports adaptive-sync for VRR. The screen also offers a 1000 nits peak brightness spec and has been certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black scheme.

For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 and 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 15W power delivery). The stand supports tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. A KVM switch function is included, and the screen also supports MSI’s OLED Care 2.0 feature set.

MSI list an MSRP of $799.99 for this model and it should be released imminently apparently. If you’re after the faster 360Hz models you can buy the MPG 271QRX here, and the MAG 271QPX here (affiliate links).

MSI PRO MP275QPDG – for Productivity and Office Work

Something a little different is the new PRO MP275QPDG which falls under the company’s professional-oriented monitor range. This is a 27″ sized monitor built around an IPS-type LCD panel. It has a 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 100Hz refresh rate, but of course this is aimed at productivity and office work, not gaming.

There’s a range of added features including USB type-C connectivity (with DP Alt mode, data and 98W power delivery), a KVM switch, daisy chaining support, built-in webcam (FHD with digital mic) and an RJ45 Ethernet connection. There’s also 1x DisplayPort 1.2 (plus additional output), 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x headphone output and 4x USB data ports available.

The PRO MP275QPDG is listed with an expected retail price of $399.99 USD, but mass production is still to be confirmed.

MSI PRO MP271AP E2 – a Lower Resolution 27″ Office Monitor

Another 27″ sized screen in their PRO range being announced is the MP271AP E2. This has a lower 1920 x 1080 resolution though, combined with a 120Hz refresh rate. A built-in FHD webcam and digital mic make it well-suited to office work and video conferencing, and there’s also a range of eye care and convenience features included. More info in the spec table below.

The PRO MP271AP E2 is listed with a retail price of $169.99 USD but mass production dates have yet to be confirmed.

MSI PRO MP252 E2 – a Smaller 24.5″ Office Monitor

This is a smaller 24.5″ sized model in their PRO range offering a 1920 x 1080 resolution IPS panel and 120Hz refresh rate. It’s aimed at office and productivity work, but can handle some modest gaming too if you need with its 120Hz refresh rate. There’s a range of eye care and convenience features that are discussed in the spec table below.

The PRO MP252 E2 is listed with a retail price of $119.99 USD and should go in to mass production in July 2024.

MSI Modern MD272UPWS – a 4K Smart Monitor

This hybrid TV/monitor is 27″ in size and has an IPS technology panel offering a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution. It’s aimed at business and productivity uses and with built-in Chromecast it supports various streaming services directly on your monitor. Google Assistant allows you to easily search for shows and more, and there’s a provided remote control to make using the screen easier. There’s also built-in 2x3W speakers, USB-C connectivity with 65W power delivery and other connections that are listed in the spec sheet below.

The MSI Modern MD272UPWS’s price and production dates are still to be confirmed.
