Asus Announce the ROG Strix XG248Q5G-P with a 610Hz Refresh Rate for Esports Gaming

Asus have unveiled their upcoming ROG Strix XG248Q5G-P gaming monitor, a 24.1″ sized screen offering a super-high 610Hz refresh rate for professional and esports gaming. It’s built around a ‘Super TN Film’ panel as they call it, and it’s an update really to their previous ROG Swift Pro PG248QP that we reviewed in the past that had a 540Hz refresh rate TN Film panel.

From the published Asus slide above, it looks like the 610Hz refresh rate will be possible thanks to an overclocking feature, although it’s not clear what the native panel refresh rate would be without that. The screen will support VRR with certification under the NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ and AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ schemes listed.
Dynamic Picture Clarity 2.0
The company’s “Dynamic Picture Clarity 2.0” technology offers a dual backlight technology apparently which will help reduce motion blur while improving brightness. This appears to be linked to their familiar ELMB 2 (Extreme Low Motion Blur) technology.
Other specs and connections
Other specs listed include a 0.1ms G2G response time (unrealistic), an extended colour gamut covering 90% DCI-P3, and a range of gaming features and settings. There are DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 connections available along with a headphone jack. It looks like the screen will not come with a normal stand, rather an arm mounting support.
Pricing and availability
The screen is expected to retail for around $1,100 USD and should start shipping in May 2025 according to reports. Further info and specs when we get it as they are pretty scarce at this time. You can keep an eye on availability and pricing via our affiliate product link here too.
