Back in early December 2024 Asus announced their upcoming ROG Strix XG32UCG gaming monitor, a 31.5″ sized screen with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution ‘Fast IPS’ technology panel, a 160Hz native refresh rate and support for a dual-mode function. This feature allows you to drop down to a lower 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080) if you want, and boost the refresh rate up to 320Hz. This function is accessible via a simple hotkey button. Now, in mid April 2025 we have some further information about this new screen which has been updated in this news piece.

The high refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR, including certification under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ schemes. Extensive connectivity options including DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 15W Power Delivery ensure compatibility with various devices. A headphone jack is also provided.

Additionally, ASUS DisplayWidget Center allows users to adjust monitor settings, keyboard shortcuts, and custom settings via a mouse. To further enhance gaming experiences, XG32UCG features “AI” enhancements such as Dynamic Crosshair and Dynamic Shadow Boost, along with ASUS Aura Sync technology. There’s a camera mount connection on the top of the stand, and a mobile phone holder slot in the base.

Other specs include a wide colour gamut covering 95% DCI-P3 and a listed 0.3ms G2G minimum response time which should be taken with a pinch of salt, as after all this is an IPS panel.
