Acer Unveil Their Latest Range of Gaming Monitors at IFA 2026
We’ve been in Berlin, Germany for this years IFA event, bringing you all the latest monitor news and we’ve got some exciting updates to share with you from Acer as they announced a range of new displays in their Predator and Nitro gaming line-ups, which included a super-high 1000Hz IPS display, and a triple-mode Mini-LED screen, to name just a few that were announced. We will give you the key information about all the models in this round-up.
Predator XB253Q U1
Headlining their event was the new Predator XB253Q U1, which is their first 1080p resolution 1000Hz gaming monitor aimed at professional and esports gamers. Part of their premium Predator series, this is a 24.5” sized screen built around an IPS LCD technology panel, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a whopping 1000Hz native refresh rate. It will also offer a 0.3ms G2G response time spec and is set to feature their proprietary VRB (Visual Response Boost) Pro technology to reduce motion blur. It’s a competing model to LG’s 25G590B which we reviewed recently.
It will also include their Circular Polariser eye care technology to reduce glare and eye strain during those long hours gaming. There are 1x DisplayPort 2.1 and 2x HDMI 2.1 connectivity and the stand will provide a full range of tilt, height swivel and rotate adjustments.
The Predator XB253Q U1 is due to be available to buy in Q1 2027 with an expected pricing of $1,099.99 USD.
Predator X32 V3
Moving onto the second announcement from the event, and this is the Predator X32 V3 model which features a 31.5” sized screen (32” class) with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and a 180Hz refresh rate. It is built around what Acer say is a Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display with a 5-layer Tandem structure using their EL 3.0 material, alongside a semi-glossy coating. Actually this model looks to be using one of the so-called “QD-OLED Edge” panels we talked about in our latest panel update, offering a lower cost option for budget-friendly displays. Those QD-OLED Edge panels can use the EL 2.0 or 3.0 material, so this one is using the latter for the 32″ panel.
Its 180Hz refresh rate will be supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems which includes support for AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync compatible’ schemes. Other gaming features will include a 0.03ms G2G response time spec and 250 nits SDR brightness. For HDR the screen will be certified under the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 tier, with a peak brightness spec of 450 nits, that being one of the limitations of the QD-OLED Edge panels (less bright).
For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x USB Type-C (with 20W power delivery – it’s unclear if this also supports DP Alt mode or is just a data port). The screen also has 2x 2W speakers and a headphone jack.
Again, this is not expected to be released until Q1 2027 but we have been given an expected retail price of $899.99 USD / €899 euro
Predator XB273K V7
Last up to showcase in their high-end Predator series was the XB273K V7 model. This is a 27″ sized screen built around an IPS LCD technology panel, with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and a native 160Hz refresh rate. A dual-mode function, or what Acer refer to as DFR (Dynamic Frequency and Resolution) technology, supports a speedy 500Hz at a lower 1080p resolution should you want to switch between gamers that require fast speeds and games that require ultra-clear visuals.
The 160Hz / 500Hz rates will be supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems which include support for AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync compatible’ schemes
Connectivity options will include 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x USB Type-C (with 20W power delivery – again unclear if this supports DP Alt mode or is just a data port). There are also 2x 2W speakers and a headphone jack.
The Predator XB273K V7 will be available in North America in Q4 2026, starting at USD $449.99; in EMEA in Q4 2026, starting at EUR 449.
4 Acer Nitro Series Displays at IFA
Moving onto Acer’s more budget-friendly Nitro series now and we saw four models unveiled at this years IFA event. The first one is the XV275X P model, which is their 27″ 5K IPS panel with a dual-mode function that can switch the native 75Hz refresh rate to 300Hz when dropping to a 1440p resolution. The Acer Nitro XV275X P will be available in North America in Q1’2027, starting at USD 1,199.99; in EMEA in Q1’2027, starting at EUR 1,199
Acer Nitro XZ340CKR P
Next up was the Acer Nitro XZ340CKR P model which is a 34” ultrawide VA panel with a 1500R curvature. It boasts a 5120 x 2160 “5K2K” resolution and a 180Hz native refresh rate, which can be doubled to 360Hz when dropping to a lower 2560 x 1080 resolution using a dual-mode function, providing you with the flexibility to switch between sharper visuals and fast-paced performance.
The 180Hz / 360Hz refresh rates are supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems, which includes support for the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ scheme. It also offers a 0.5ms G2G response time spec. Connectivity options include 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 and then there’s also 2x 2W speakers and a headphone jack.
This model is likely to be available to buy in Q4 2026 at an expected retail price of $699.99 USD / €699 euro.
Acer Nitro XV275U Z2
They also introduced their Acer Nitro XV275U Z2 model which features a 27” sized IPS panel, with a native 2560 x 1440 resolution and 275Hz refresh rate. When you want to prioritise frame rates over immersive visuals, a triple-mode function is available which allows you to switch to two further resolution/refresh rate combinations including 1080p at 360Hz and 720p at 520Hz.
It also features an impressive 1,152-zone Mini-LED backlight, offering high-end HDR capabilities for the LCD market, including certification under the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 tier and a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The refresh rate will be supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems, which includes support for the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ scheme. It will also offers a 0.5ms G2G response time spec.
For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1, and there’s also 2x 2W speakers and a headphone jack.
This model is expected to hit the shelves in Q4 2026 with a likely price point of of $329.99 USD / €329 euro.
Acer Nitro XV270 Z3
Their final model announced in the Nitro series and their second model to feature triple-mode support, was the Acer Nitro XV270 Z3, which offers a 27″ IPS screen with a native 2560 x 1440 resolution and 275Hz refresh. Like the XV275U Z2 model, this one is also set to feature a triple-mode function which can support three different resolution and refresh rate combinations to suit your gaming scenario. There’s the native 1440p resolution at 275Hz, 1080p at 360Hz and 720p at 520Hz.
The refresh rates are supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems which includes support for AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ scheme. This one does not feature a Mini-LED backlight so HDR support will be limited. Connectivity options include 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1, 2x 2W speakers and a headphone jack.
This display is scheduled to be released in Q1 2027 at an expected retail price of $299.99 USD / €299 euro
