Acer announced back in January at CES their new Predator XB323QX gaming monitor, and it’s been (sort of) on show this week at Computex 2025 as well. It’s a large 31.5″ sized screen built around an IPS LCD panel and offering an impressive 5120 x 2880 “5K” resolution and a (now updated from144Hz as it was at CES), 165Hz refresh rate. This gaming monitor supports a dual-mode function allowing you to switch to a lower resolution of 2560 x 1440 (not terrible on a 31.5″ sized screen) but boost your refresh rate up to (now) 330Hz for improved frame rates and motion clarity. This allows you to prioritised between image detail and resolution, or frame rates and speed depending on your gaming requirements.

Other specs

Other specs provided include a 0.5ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 95% DCI-P3 and 99% sRGB. The screen features DisplayPort 1.4 and 2x HDMI 2.1 video connections. For maximum comfort, the monitor provides adjustable tilt, swivel and height, allowing gamers to find the perfect viewing angle for any environment. It can also be wall-mounted to save desk space. It also features 2x 2W basic integrated speakers.

NVIDIA G-sync Pulsar supported

This new screen also supports NVIDIA’s new G-sync Pulsar technology, made possible through the use of the new MediaTek G-sync scaler. This allows you to use a strobing blur reduction backlight, but importantly use it at the same time as G-sync VRR in gaming.

A glossy screen coating?

The monitor is in an early prototype form at Computex so we can’t necessarily confirm it will stay this way, but the monitor appears to be glossy as well, although it was not easy to get a clear answer from Acer product reps. Time will tell if this ends up being a final product decision or not.

Pricing and availability

We were told at Computex that the screen will apparently be launched in Q4, but pricing was not yet known. It was in a very early prototype stage, it didn’t even have a working OSD and we were told the G-sync Pulsar function was also not working. With that in mind, and the delays we’ve seen to other models like the 27″ G-sync Pulsar monitor from Asus, we expect this Q4 date to slip in to next year some time. More info when we get it of course.
