MSI Announce Two New 32″ 4th Gen QD-OLED Monitors with Dark Armor Film

MSI have today announced two new 32″ 4K 240Hz monitors in their QD-OLED line-up ahead of CES 2026 next week. Both the MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 and MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 are anchored by the latest 5-layer Tandem QD-OLED architecture with EL 3.0 panel technology, setting a new benchmark for luminous efficiency and longevity in the 32-inch 4K line-up. These are using what we like to refer to as 4th Gen QD-OLED panels, following on from the 27″ 4K panel from 2025 which used the same EL 3.0 material. The new panels also include their ‘Dark Armor’ film, designed to improve panel hardness and scratch resistance, as well as improve blacks in brighter room conditions.

DarkArmor Film

This specialized film technology is designed to enhance light absorption and eliminate the distracting purple or reddish tints often visible on standard QD-OLEDs under ambient light. MSI say this can boost black levels by up to 40%, significantly improving contrast and delivering superior image performance. Furthermore, it upgrades the screen surface hardness from 2H to 3H, offering 2.5x better scratch resistance to effectively withstand daily wear and tear.

New HDR Adjustable Modes

MSI are also introducing new adjustable HDR modes. They say that “to address the jarring brightness shifts often found in standard HDR, this feature allows users to customize the HDR brightness curve. By correlating specific brightness levels to different display window sizes, it ensures a stable and smooth brightness experience across various usage scenarios.”

These should offer the flexibility to customise the HDR modes, perhaps landing somewhere in between the typical TB500 and Peak modes. Note that they can’t magically make the screen brighter, but MSI will continue to also offer their recently launched ‘EOTF Boost’ mode as well.

Specs

The screens are 31.5″ in size (32″ class) with a flat format. Their 4th Gen QD-OLED panels offer a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time, 300 nits SDR brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut. They’re certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black tier, although they will continue to offer a 1000 nits peak brightness spec.

The MPG model will feature MSI’s A.I. Care Sensor for burn-in protection and various other useful capabilities. The MPG model is expected to offer a few other additional features compared with the MAG model, usually including an increased USB-C power delivery, USB-A data ports and support for their Gaming Intelligence software.
