Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP 480Hz Formally Released and Available to Order Tomorrow
Originally unveiled at CES 2024 in January, but formally released today is the Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP, the World’s first 480Hz OLED gaming monitor. It’s built around LG.Display’s new WOLED panel offering a super high refresh rate, as well as the improved sub-pixel structure we have already seen on their 32″ model, the PG32UCDP. It’s bound to attract a lot of interest as the World’s fastest OLED monitor, aimed primarily at competitive gaming and esports players.

Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP Specs
The new screen will be 27″ in size and features a flat format WOLED panel from LG.Display. It has a 2560 x 1440 resolution combined with a super-high 480Hz refresh rate. This will be supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates from compatible NVIDIA and AMD systems, including certification under the G-sync Compatible and FreeSync Premium schemes.
It also features their ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) feature which offers a Black Frame Insertion (BFI) blur reduction mode for up to 240Hz.
There is also a 0.03ms G2G response time spec, 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio, 275 nits SDR brightness (100% white screen), 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3. For HDR it offers a 1300 nits peak brightness spec which is 30% higher than their previous OLED monitors. The OLED panel will offer the usual benefits of near-instant response times, per pixel level dimming and basically infinite contrast ratio potential.
Asus’ uniform brightness mode will continue to be useful to help mitigate dimming and ABL during desktop uses, and the screen will also feature their custom heatsink which avoids the need to use an active cooling fan. Improvements are expected thanks to the updated RGWB sub-pixel layout too.
From a connectivity point of view there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, 2x HDMI 2.1 and 2x USB data ports. There’s also a headphone connection but no KVM switch or USB type-C on this model. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.
The screen also includes their new AI Assistant features, which boasts a suite of features such as AI Visual, AI Crosshair, AI Sniper, AI ShadowBoost, and the MOBA Map Helper to enhance gaming experiences.
