Acer Announce Nitro XV270 F5 and XV270U F5 with 27″ IPS Panels and 500Hz+ Refresh Rates
At IFA 2024 Acer have announced two new models in their Nitro line-up of gaming monitors, offering IPS panels and refresh rates of 500Hz+. The Nitro XV270 F5 is 27″ in size and offers a 1080p resolution and a 520Hz refresh rate while the Nitro XV270U F5 is also 27″ in size, has a higehr 1440p resolution but a slightly lower 500Hz refresh rate. these look like they will be the first 27″ sized monitors to be launched formally with 500Hz+ refresh rate, after the MSI MPG272QPX was quietly showcased at CES 2024 in January, but only as a prototype which we are told probably won’t be followed up on.
Acer Nitro XV270 F5 Specs
This model has a 27″ IPS panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 0.5ms G2G min response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 nits brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit colour depth and a standard 99% sRGB colour gamut. Adaptive-sync supports VRR and the high 520Hz refresh rate, with the screen certified under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ scheme.
For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort and 2x HDMI 2.1 connections as well as 2 USB data ports and an audio output. The stand offers tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. There are also some basic 2x 2W integrated speakers included.

This model has a 27″ IPS panel with a higher 2560 x 1440 resolution, 0.5ms G2G min response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 250 nits brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit+FRC colour depth and a standard 99% sRGB colour gamut. Adaptive-sync supports VRR and the high (but slightly lower than the other model) 500Hz refresh rate, with the screen certified under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ scheme.
For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 and 2x HDMI 2.1 connections. The stand offers tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. There are also some basic 2x 2W integrated speakers included.
Pricing and Availability
The Nitro XV270 F5 (1080p 520Hz model) will be available in North America in Q1 2025, starting at USD 599.99; in EMEA in Q1 2025, starting at EUR 699; and in China in Q4 2024, starting at RMB 4,999.
The Nitro XV270U F5 (1440p 500Hz model) will be available in North America in Q1 2025, starting at USD 799.99; in EMEA in Q1 2025, starting at EUR 799; and in China in Q4 2024, starting at RMB 4,999.
