Acer Nitro XV240 F6 Unveiled with a 600Hz Refresh Rate TN Film Panel

At today’s IFA 2024 press event, Acer unveiled their upcoming Nitro XV240 F6 gaming monitor, with a massive 600Hz refresh rate (you know, for those occasions where 540Hz just wasn’t enough!) It looks like the screen will be built around the new AU Optronics TN Film technology panel that we discussed in our last AUO roadmap article here.

The screen is a small 24.1″ in size with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Being a TN Film panel it is aimed almost exclusively at competitive gamers and esports, at those users who demand the highest refresh rates available. We have previously reviewed the 540Hz TN Film panel in models like the Asus ROG Swift PG248QP so you can check out our review to find out more about whether TN film still has it’s place, and how it performs.

Acer Nitro XV240 F6 Specs

In other specs the screen has a 0.1ms G2G response time spec (which is getting a little silly again on LCD panels), a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 nits brightness (SDR), 170/160 viewing angles, 8-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 95% DCI-P3. The very high 600Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR, with the screen being certified under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ tier as well. Don’t expect any HDR capabilities from a screen like this, it’s focused on pure gaming.

For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 and 2x HDMI 2.0 ports avaialble, the latter can only support up to 240Hz refresh rates and are more aimed at connecting external devices. 2x 2W basic integrated speakers are also includeds and the stand has a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.

Pricing and Availability

The screen will be released in Q1 2025 at a price of $599.99 USD in North America and for €899 in Europe.
