Nixeus have just launched a new model in their lineup of gaming monitors. The NX-EDG34 is 34″ in size and has a curved ultrawide panel with 3440 x 1440 resolution. It uses a VA technology panel and offers a 144Hz refresh rate and support for adaptive sync VRR. It is available in two flavours, the normal EDG34 which has a height adjustable stand, and the EDG34S with a more basic tilt-only stand

AMD FreeSync is supported with a range of 48 – 144Hz over the DisplayPort 1.4 connection provided. The screen has also been “verified to work with NVIDIA G-sync”, although doesn’t at this time carry the official “G-sync Compatible” badge from NVIDIA.

In other specs the screen has a 4ms G2G response time, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 16.7m colour depth and standard sRGB gamut. There is also a “1ms (photon to render latency)” advertised which we believe to represent the input lag of the monitor.

For connectivity there are 2x DisplayPort 1.4 (up to 144Hz) and 2x HDMI 2.0 (up to 100Hz) connections provided. There is also a headphone jack. The S model has only a basic stand offering tilt adjustment only but can be removed for VESA mounting if you wish. The normal EDG34 model has a more premium height adjustable stand. There is an integrated headphone holder on the stand.

The EDG34 is available now from at $599.99, from at $777.81 CDN and will apparently soon be available in the UK too from

We hope to feature a review of this screen at some point soon.
