Acer VG252QX with 24.5″ IPS Panel and 240Hz Refresh Rate
Acer have released details of another new gaming screen in their lineup. This one looks very similar to the already announced XV253QX but with a more basic stand. The new model is the VG252QX and will feature a 24.5″ sized IPS technology panel with a native 240Hz refresh rate. This is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from both AMD and NVIDIA systems.
Spec wise the screen offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 1ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 16.7ms colour depth and standard 99% sRGB gamut. it uses a panel from AU Optronics from the latest generation of high refresh rate IPS-type offerings.
HDR400 certification is included, although at the moment that does not require any local dimming so will not offer any meaningful performance, especially considering the screen also lacks the enhanced gamut or colour depth to improve colours as well in HDR content.
There are 1x DisplayPort 1.2 and 2x HDMI 2.0 connections available.
