LG 45GR65DC and 45GR75DC with 44.5″ VA Super Ultrawide Panels and 200Hz
LG are soon to release a new 44.5″ super ultrawide screen to the market, their new UltraGear 45GR65DC. It’s built around a curved VA technology panel and offers a 5120 x 1440 resolution, 200Hz refresh rate and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification. This provides a screen with the same resolution as the 49″ super ultrawide models on the market, but in a slightly smaller form factor, with a slightly higher pixel density as a result. It’s similar to having a dual 24.5″ 2560 x 1440 screen setup in size and resolution.
LG 45GR65DC and 45GR75DC Specs
The new screens will offer a 5120 x 1440 resolution VA technology panel, 32:9 aspect ratio and a 1500r curvature. There is a 1ms G2G response time spec, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 95% of the DCI-P3 colour space.
There is a pretty high 200Hz refresh rate which is supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates, and it includes certification under the NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ and AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ schemes.
For HDR the screens conform to the VESA DisplayHDR 600 standard, meaning some edge lit local dimming and a peak brightness in HDR mode of 600 nits.
For video connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC) and 2x HDMI 2.1 ports (capabilities not listed) provided. The 45GR75DC model also has an additional USB type-C connection with DP Alt mode and 90W power delivery. There are also 2x USB data ports and a headphone/mic jack on both. The screens can support PbP and PiP modes too, and there’s a decent range of stand adjustments with tilt, height and swivel adjustments.
Pricing and availability
The 45GR65DC is listed on LG.com at a price of $799.99 USD, while the 45GR75DC (with USB-C) is available on LG.com at $899.99.
