Dell UltraSharp U3824DW with 38″ Ultrawide IPS Black Panel Released
This one slipped by us without detection it seems a couple of months ago, but we wanted to mention it now as we often see requests from readers for 38″ ultrawide models in the rare 24:10 aspect ratio. The UltraSharp U3824DW is the latest offering from Dell in this size, sporting a 3840 x 1600 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and being built around LG.Display’s latest IPS Black panel offering. We brought you news and updates about this panel in our recent LG.Display panel roadmap, but at the time we were not aware of any screens making use of this sized panel.
Dell UltraSharp U3824DW Specs
The screen is 37.5″ in size (commonly referred to as 38″) and has a 3840 x 1600 resolution and 24:10 aspect ratio. This gives you a bit more horizonal and vertical space than common 3440 x 1440 ultrawide screens. It’s built around the latest IPS Black panel from LG.Display and offers a 2000:1 contrast ratio, along with a 5ms G2G response time spec, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles and a wide colour gamut covering 100% sRGB and 98% DCI-P3.
Connectivity
Connectivity includes 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 (capabilities not listed) and USB type-C (with DP Alt mode and 90W power delivery). Also provided are an audio output and 4x USB data ports on the back. There’s also a 2.5GbE RJ45 LAN port with PXE boot, Mac Address pass-thru and Wake on Lan features. A quick access USB A and 2x USB-C data ports (with 15W power delivery) are located on the bottom of the screen too. A KVM function is included, and the stand offers tilt, height and swivel adjustments.
Pricing and Availability
The U3824DW is available now, priced at £1162.80 GBP in the UK, and $1149.99 in the USA at the time of writing.
