Dell Announce the Alienware AW3426DW, a New 34″ Ultrawide Penta Tandem QD-OLED Monitor

As part of their Computex 2026 announcements Dell have today unveiled their new Alienware AW3426DW monitor. This is their latest offering in the 34″ ultrawide OLED monitor space, built around a 5th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display like we’ve seen used in a range of new monitors announced at CES earlier in the year. This offers a 3440 x 1440 resolution, and Dell have opted to go with the 280Hz refresh rate version of the panel instead of the 360Hz version in an effort to provide a more balanced price point while still offering some decent upgrades over their previous OLED monitors of this size.

RGB-stripe and improved coating
The new panel brings some notable improvements including an RGB-stripe sub-pixel layout for sharper and clear text, and an improved coating film which increases scratch resistance and panel hardness by 2.5x while also offering better ambient light handling, retaining blacks better in well-lit rooms and reducing the purple tint which impacted earlier Gen QD-OLED panels. It remains a semi-glossy finish as with other QD-OLED panels, just with improved reflection handling and hardness.

Samsung Display refer to this as ‘QuantumBlack film‘, although Dell don’t directly market it in this way or have a brand name of their own. We’ve explored these specific panel enhancements in detail on several occasions, so you can check out our reviews of the competing Asus and MSI models for more information.

Dell Alienware AW3426DW specs
The screen is 34″ in size with a 21:9 aspect ratio and an 1800R curvature. It offers a 3440 x 1440 resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time, 300 nits SDR brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3. The screen comes factory calibrated with dE < 2.

There is a native 280Hz refresh rate and VRR is supported via adaptive-sync with AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’, NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ and VESA ‘AdaptiveSync’ certifications. A dedicated ‘esports mode’ is featured which offers 24.5″ screen size emulation.
For HDR there is True Black 500 certification and a peak brightness spec of 1300 nits quoted. Both Dolby Vision HDR and HDR10 formats are supported.

For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC) and 2x HDMI 2.1 for video. PiP and PbP modes are supported for handling multiple video inputs. There’s also 1x USB-C (15W) and 1x USB-A data ports on the bottom edge of the screen for quick access. The stand offers tilt, height and swivel adjustments

Optimized design and burn-in mitigation measures
The monitor is backed by a 3 year warranty which includes burn-in cover. Dell talk about how the 5-stack Penta Tandem panel operates more efficiently than earlier gen panels, achieving higher brightness at lower electrical load, which directly reduces burn-in risk. The design incorporates a graphite sheet which disperses heat across the panel and which is engineered to prevent localized hotspots that accelerate image retention.

An enhanced AI algorithm monitors and adjusts electrical current on a per-pixel basis to maintain image uniformity and extend display health over time while familiar Pixel refresh and pixel shift features add additional layers of display health preservation.
Pricing and availability
The Alienware AW3426DW is due to be released globally in July. Regional pricing will be announced a little closer to launch.
