BenQ Announce Zowie XL2586X with 540Hz Panel and DyAc 2 Blur Reduction
BenQ have announced the release of their fastest gaming monitor to date, the new Zowie XL2586X. This is a 24″ sized screen like the very popular XL2566K (reviewed) which preceded it, but the refresh rate has been increased from 360Hz to 540Hz now! It’s built around a “Fast-TN” panel (TN Film) which will deliver the fastest response times to keep up with this high refresh rate, with the screen also featuring the company’s latest generation of “DyAc 2” blur reduction technology. This is a direct competitor to the recently released Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP that we reviewed recently.
BenQ Zowie XL2586X Specs
The XL2586X is 24.1″ in size and built around an AU Optronics “Fast TN” panel. It has a 1920 x 1080 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 320 cd/m2 brightness and 170/160 viewing angles. The extremely high 540Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates. The screen features a familiar range of gaming extras such as Black eQualizer; Color Vibrance; S Switch and a provided Shielding Hood. BenQ also promote the new height adjustable stand, which is powered by industrial-grade bearing design apparently. The stand features tilt, height and swivel adjustments.
For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 and 3x HDMI 2.1 connections provided.
The product webpage has some further information about the benefits of using a fast TN Film panel here instead of IPS, as well as some of the key features of this screen.
DyAc 2
The new screen also features BenQ’s latest generation of “DyAc” which they’ve called “DyAc 2”. Actually this is the third generation of the technology, following on from the original DyAc, then DyAc+, with the latter being featured on the previous XL2566K monitor for instance and highly regarded. It’s a high-end motion blur reduction backlight feature that can significantly improve motion blur in gaming and is popular with may owners of their current screens.
As BenQ put it, “DyAc™/DyAc⁺™/DyAc™ 2 is a technology designed by ZOWIE to reduce motion blur seen in LCD technology. It reduces vigorous screen shaking in-game and can help improve recoil control in CS:GO. Perhaps the difference is minimal and varies from person to person but the difference in the arena is often that 1%….With its dual backlight technology, DyAc 2 enhances performance in blur reduction while it offers a soft light output, facilitating eye adaptation.”

Pricing and Availability
The BenQ website suggests that the XL2586X will be available for $599 USD, although the links they include only take you to pages for the existing XL2566K display. Apparently the new screen will be released in Q1 according to their Twitter / X feed, with more information expected in January. We will update on pricing and release dates when we know more.
