AOC Introduce QD-OLED Panels to the G4 Series for First Time with Competitive Price Points

In a line-up previously dominated by the use of LCD panels, the Q27G4ZDR and Q27G4SDR are the first models in AOC’s popular and affordable G4 gaming series to be built around Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panel technology, bringing a very attractive price tag with it. They are both 27″ in size and offer a QHD resolution. One of the main differences that sets these two apart is the refresh rate with the Q27G4ZDR reaching 240Hz and the Q27G4SDR offering even faster speeds of 360Hz.
AOC Q27G4ZDR and Q27G4SDR Specs

Both the Q27G4ZDR and Q27G4SDR are 27″ in size (26.5″ accurately) with a flat format and use QD-OLED panels. They offer a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time spec, 178/178 viewing angles and a wide colour gamut covering 147.6% of the sRGB, 99.1% of the DCI-P3 and 98% of the Adobe RGB colour spaces. Both are supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates from compatible systems. Other gaming features include Low Input Lag, Shadow Control, Game Colour and AOC’s G-menu software.

HDR10 content is supported and (rather unusually) a typical brightness of 400 nits (10% APL) is quoted as opposed to the normal peak brightness figures. Given the panels are known already we’d expect these to carry the usual 1000 nits peak brightness spec as well.

The 3-sided frameless black design has a red accent on the back and the stand offers tilt, height and swivel adjustments. Flicker-free and Low Blue Light technologies are included for a more comfortable viewing experience. In addition, AOC offer a 3-year warranty, which includes cover for burn-in.
Connectivity

For connectivity both the Q27G4ZDR and the Q27G4SDR include 2x HDMI 2.1, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, a USB 3.2 hub, 2x USB Type-A connections, 1x USB Type-B connection and a headphone jack. They also offer PiP/PbP support for handling multiple devices.
Availability and pricing
The Q27G4ZDR is due to be released in mid-November at the attractive price point of £399.99 GBP which is very competitive for OLED monitors. The Q27G4SDR has now appeared in the UK on Amazon so you can check latest availability and pricing for that model here (affiliate link).
