AOC have announced the release of their new AGON Pro PD34 monitor, a new 34″ ultrawide model in their Porsche Design series. The PD34 features a latest gen QD-OLED technology panel with 240Hz refresh rate. The screen is engineered to meet the exacting standards of both professional users and enthusiast gamers, offering a blend of performance, precision, and style that reflects the heritage of both brands. We recently reviewed their 49″ super ultrawide model in this series, and you can check out the review of the AOC AGON Pro PD49 here.

AOC AGON Pro PD34 Specs

The PD34 is 34″ in size, with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 3440 x 1440 resolution. The screen has a subtle 1800R curvature and is built around the same Samsung Display QD-OLED panel that we’ve seen used in the market by a couple of other manufacturers already, including the MSI MPG 341CQPX which we reviewed recently. As a result, it offers a very similar panel spec and will have the same semi-glossy screen coating as other standard QD-OLED panel monitors. The pixel structure remains the same as the earlier 175Hz gen 1 panels though, as it did for the MSI model and all other screens which use this new 34″ 240Hz QD-OLED panel.

In other specs there is a 0.03ms G2G response time, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 100% sRGB, 99% DCI-P3 and 99% Adobe RGB. The 240Hz native refresh rate of the panel is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR, with the screen meeting the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ certifications. Gaming-specific features include a Frame Counter and Dynamic Dial Point, a customisable crosshair overlay that can change colour to remain visible against any background.

A peak brightness spec of 1000 nits is listed for HDR content, along with certification under the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black tier.

The stand offers tilt, height and swivel adjustments. Adding to its visual appeal, the PD34 features AOC’s Light FX with RGB illumination offering 15 different modes, creating an immersive ambiance for any setup. For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 65W power delivery) and 2x HDMI 2.1 ports provided for video. There’s also 3x USB-A data ports and a headphone jack. A KVM switch function and PiP/PbP modes are also supported. The screen also includes 2x 8W DTS sound speakers.

The screen comes with AOC’s standard 3 year OLED warranty which includes burn-in cover.

Designed with Porsche in mind

As AOC put it in the press release: “The monitor’s aesthetic draws inspiration from the iconic design language of Porsche. Its sleek profile and premium materials echo the sophistication found in Porsche interiors and exteriors. The 21:9 aspect ratio of the display evokes the wide, driver-focussed layout of a dashboard, while the monitor’s controls are as intuitive and responsive as the centre console. The monitor’s design further features a sandblasted aluminium cast stand, reminiscent of the steering wheel and wheel spokes of a 911, while the back side of the monitor is inspired by its radiator grille.”

Pricing and Availability

The Porsche Design AGON PRO PD34 is available from 18 September 2024 in Porsche Design stores and at specialist retailers as well as online at porsche-design.com and in selected online shops at an RRP of £999 GBP in the UK.
