Acer Launch Several New Monitors at Global Press Event including 4K 160Hz Predator XB273K LV
Acer yesterday announced several new monitors as part of their Global Press Conference. These include a couple of new gaming monitors and a couple of models from their Eco-conscious Vero product portfolio. Further information available below.
Predator XB273K LV Gaming Monitor
The Predator XB273K LV is 27″ in size and features a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution combined with a high refresh rate of 160Hz. This is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from both NVIDIA and AMD systems, with AMD’s ‘FreeSync Premium’ certification featured. The screen is based on an IPS panel and also includes a 0.5ms G2G minimum response time spec, which as usual should be taken with a pinch of salt. In other specs there is a 400 nit brightness (600 peak for HDR mode), 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit+FRC colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 95% DCI-P3.
HDMI 2.1 connectivity is promoted although relevant features such as HDMI-VRR are not mentioned. We assume this will support 4K 120Hz for consoles although again at what bandwidth and colour levels if not known. There are 2x HDMI 2.1 ports here, along with 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (no mention of DSC but we assume it is used). There is also 1x USB type-C (65W power delivery listed but DP Alt mode is not) and a 4 port USB hub too.
The screen also has VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification meaning some simple edge lit local dimming can be expected, along with a wide colour gamut and 10-bit colour depth support. A factory calibration with dE <1 is listed also. There are also 2x 2W integrated speakers along with an audio out connection, and the stand offers a full range of ergonomic adjustments with tilt, height, swivel and rotate provided.
The Predator XB273K LV will be available in Q3 in North America starting at USD $999; in EMEA starting at EUR 949, and in China starting at RMB 5,999.
Nitro XV272U RV Gaming Monitor
Another gaming monitor being announced is the Nitro XV272U RV which is 27″ in size again but this time with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and 170Hz refresh rate. This is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from both NVIDIA and AMD systems, with AMD’s ‘FreeSync Premium’ certification featured. The 170Hz refresh rate is supported via an overclocking feature the press release says from a native 144Hz panel. A 1ms G2G response time IPS-type panel is used, and the screen offers a 400 nit brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut with 95% DCI-P3 coverage quoted. Like the model above, this too has a factory calibration with dE <1. There are 1x DisplayPort 1.2 and 2x HDMI 2.0 ports offered along with an audio output. There are also 2x 2W integrated speakers and the stand offers a full range of ergonomic adjustments with tilt, height, swivel and rotate provided.
The Acer Nitro XV272U RV will be available in Q3 North America starting at USD $449; in EMEA starting at EUR 399, and in China starting at RMB 2,499.
CB273 and B247Y G monitors in Acer’s “Eco-Conscious Vero Product Portfolio”
As part of their Vero product range Acer have announced two new monitors. There is the CB273 which is 27″ in size, along with the B247Y G which is a smaller 23.8″ in size, both with a 1080p resolution. They have an eco-friendly design comprised of 85% PCR plastic and 5% ocean bound plastic (OBP). The product with the most focus is the larger CB273 which Acer confirm has features like a KVM switch, USB type-C connectivity (90W power delivery), factory calibration with dE < 1 and Eyesafe low blue light certification.
The Acer Vero CB273 monitor will be available in Q3, in the United States starting at USD $349.99, in EMEA starting at EUR 399, and in China starting at RMB 2,499.
The Acer Vero B247Y G monitor will be available in Q3 in the United States starting at USD $199.99, in EMEA starting at EUR 269, and in China starting at RMB 1,499.
