KTC G27P6 Launching with 27″ OLED Panel, 1440p and 240Hz Refresh Rate
Around this time last year we wrote an article that introduced the Chinese monitor manufacturer, KTC Technology. KTC are a well known manufacturer of display products in the Chinese market, ranging from tablets to TV’s, smart displays and monitors. They have their own line-up of KTC-branded products, but also supply monitors and technology to other vendors and global partners such as NEC, Samsung, ViewSonic, and many more in different product ranges. Over the last year they’ve branched out in to other regions including the US, Europe and UK and have launched a range of new monitors. We have already reviewed in the past their 42″ 4K OLED G42P5, and their 27″ M27P20 Pro with Mini LED backlight. Now KTC are set to release their new G27P6 monitor, a 27″ class OLED screen with a 1440p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate aimed at gamers.
- Update 2 Nov 23 – Our review of the KTC G27P6 is available now
KTC G27P6 Specs
The G27P6 offers an impressive spec and feature set. It has a 27″ (accurately 26.5″) sized WOLED panel from LG.Display, with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time, 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio (basically infinite since it’s an OLED panel). It will feature a matte anti-glare coating like all the other existing 27″ OLED models currently available. A 100% sRGB colour gamut is also listed, along with 97% DCI-P3 and 92% Adobe RGB coverage. It also supports a 10-bit colour depth and KTC say that it will come factory calibrated with a dE <2.
The screen has a native 240Hz refresh rate and is supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates (VRR) from compatible NVIDIA and AMD systems.
For HDR there are apparently two modes available, with a peak brightness of 1000 nits delivered in the “cinema” mode.
For connectivity the screen includes 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0 and 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode and 65W power delivery). KVM support is also offered and there are also 2x USB data ports and an audio output. The screen is also TUV Eyecare certified and includes some built-in 2x 5W speakers.
A short promotional video is provided by KTC for the new screen here:
Custom heatsink and intelligent voltage optimisation
The G27P6 is based on the same WOLED panel as popular monitors like the LG 27GR95QE and Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDM which we’ve already reviewed, so those should give you a good feel for the general performance characteristics and use-cases for the new KTC screen. KTC list in their product information they provided us a “highly efficient custom heatsink plus intelligent voltage optimisation for better heat management” which should help with longevity and presumably means the screen does not need to use an active cooling fan.
Release Date and Pricing
The G27P6 is expected to be available in the US and Europe in November with a retail price of $799.99 USD.
Update 31 Oct 23 – The G27P6 is available in the US now from Newegg (affiliate link) and will be available via Amazon imminently in the US as well. It is also available from geekbuying in Europe and the UK too.
