AOC G4309VX/D Announced with 43″ VA Panel, 4K, 144Hz and HDR 1000
AOC China have recently announced a new large format gaming display in their line-up. The G4309VX/D is 43″ in size and offers a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution combined with a 144Hz refresh rate. It also boasts a high contrast ratio thanks to its VA technology panel, and certification to the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 level.
AOC G4309VX/D Specs
Spec wise the screen offers a 3840 x 2160 resolution VA technology panel. It has a 1ms MPRT spec, 4000:1 contrast ratio, 720 cd/m2 brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit+FRC colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 100% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3, thanks to the use of a Quantum Dot coating. There is a high refresh rate of 144Hz which is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from both NVIDIA and AMD systems. The 1ms MPRT spec is made possible thanks to the inclusion of a Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) backlight mode.
The stand offers only a basic tilt adjustment due to the large screen size, but can also be removed for 200 x 100mm VESA mounting if you want. For connectivity there is 2x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC) and 2x HDMI 2.1 which gives good support for modern games consoles too. 4x USB 3.2 ports and a headphone jack are also provided, and the screen has 2x 7W integrated speakers along with support for PiP and PbP.
HDR 1000 Certification
The AOC G4309VX/D is certified to the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 standard offering a peak brightness of 1100 cd/m2, along with the required colour enhancements for this level that includes a wide colour gamut covering 95% of the DCI-P3 space, and a 10-bit (8-bit+FRC) colour depth. While the VA technology panel provides a great foundation for high contrast (4000:1 static contrast ratio), the screen only has basic edge-lit local dimming to improve that dynamic range so don’t expect miracles there.
The G4309VX/D is listed on AOC’s China website, but it’s not clear yet whether it will be available in other regions like the US or UK. More info when we get it.
