AOC Expands Affordable G4/G42 Series with New 1440p High Refresh Rate Models

AOC have recently announced three new models in their affordable G4 and G42 Series of Gaming monitors. There’s the 24.5″ sized Q25G4SR which offers a rare 2560 x 1440 resolution in this size, combined with a 300Hz refresh rate. There’s also the 27″ Q27G4ZR and 27″ Q27G42ZE which both offer a 2560 x 1440 resolution as well, with a 260Hz overclocked refresh rate. More info on these new screens below.
AOC Gaming Q25G4SR

The Q25G4SR stands out as a rare offering in the gaming monitor market, delivering a QHD (2560×1440) resolution in the compact 24.5″ division, which is usually limited to 1920 x 1080 resolutions. With an impressive pixel density of ~120PPI, it is the successor of the beloved AOC GAMING Q24G2A from the G2 series, providing gamers with a combination of high resolution and compact size that many enthusiasts have been waiting for.

This monitor delivers a high 300 Hz refresh rate as well, with its Fast IPS panel offering ultra-smooth gameplay with response times up to 1ms G2G and 0.3ms MPRT when using the Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) mode. The stand provides a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. For connectivity there are 2x HDMI 2.1 ports and 1x DisplayPort 1.4 provided.
AOC Gaming Q27G4ZR and Q27G42ZE

The Q27G4ZR represents a versatile choice in the 27″ category, featuring a 2560 x 1440 resolution Fast IPS panel combined with a 240Hz refresh rate with overclocking capability to 260Hz. It also offers the same rapid response times up to 1ms G2G and 0.3ms MPRT with Motion Blur Reduction and also includes comprehensive connectivity with 2x HDMI 2.0 ports and 1x DisplayPort 1.4, built-in 2x 2W stereo speakers, and a fully ergonomic stand offering tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.
For budget-conscious gamers, the Q27G42ZE offers the same core performance as the Q27G4ZR, with a 240Hz refresh rate (overclockable to 260Hz) and almost identical Fast IPS panel specifications, but with streamlined features including a tilt-only stand, simplified connectivity with 1x HDMI 2.0 and 1x DisplayPort 1.4, and a slightly lower 300 cd/m² brightness (compared with 400 nits on the Q27G4ZR). There’s no integrated speakers on this model either.
