ViewSonic VX2882-4KP with 28″ IPS Panel, 4K, 150Hz and HDMI 2.1

ViewSonic have released details a new gaming monitor on their website. The VX2882-4KP is 28″ in size and features a 4K resolution IPS panel, high 150Hz refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 connectivity. The high resolution and refresh rate are supported by adaptive sync for VRR from both NVIDIA and AMD systems, and it includes the AMD FreeSync Premium certification level.
VX2882-4KP Specs

The VX2882-4KP is 28″ in size (well, to be exact it is 27.9″) and has an IPS-type panel. There is a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 1ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles. There is a max 150Hz refresh rate and also a 1ms MPRT spec quoted thanks to the inclusion of a blur reduction backlight mode.
There is, quite oddly, a 6-bit+FRC colour depth specifically listed on the ViewSonic website. We’ve seen this method in the past on some IPS panels to produce the 16.7m colours, but that was typically for smaller sizes up to around 24″. If this spec is correct, that is quite unusual for a 28″ sized screen, although it’s unlikely you’d notice much difference in real usage. A wide colour gamut is quoted with a 90% DCi-P3 coverage, and 122% relative sRGB coverage.
HDMI 2.1 connectivity for modern consoles

The inclusion of HDMI 2.1 connectivity makes the VX2882-4KP suitable for latest generation consoles including the PS5 and Xbox Series X, at a resolution of 4K and with a high refresh rate of 120Hz. This will also allow support for VRR where it is available from the console.

In other connectivity there is also 1x USB-C (DP Alt mode), 2x DisplayPort 1.4 and 2x USB 3.2 ports. There are 2x 2W basic integrated speakers and an audio output connection too. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.
No word on regional availability of pricing at the moment.
