LG 34GL750 with 34″ 1080p IPS Panel and 144Hz Refresh Rate

There’s very little information online about this screen yet, but it has emerged on Amazon.com as a new 34″ ultrawide option from LG. The 34GL750 is an ultrawide format display with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 2560 x 1080 resolution. It has a 3-side borderless design. The panel offers a 144Hz refresh rate though, along with support for AMD FreeSync and also nowadays NVIDIA G-sync.

With the lower resolution (compared to many 3440 x 1440 resolution 34″ models) the sharpness will not be as good, as the pixel pitch is larger. You will also lose some desktop real estate because of the lower resolution. On the other hand, this 1080p resolution will be easier to power in games, especially from older graphics cards which might be attractive to many people.

A 1ms motion blur reduction mode is talked about, meaning that the screen features a strobing blur reduction backlight. While not currently listed we expect a 5ms G2G response time spec. Other specs aren’t listed either, but we would expect to see a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 16.7m colour depth, sRGB gamut and 178/178 viewing angles. HDR10 is mentioned in the specs, which suggests to us that the screen will probably carry the lowly VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification with no local dimming or meaningful HDR experience other than accepting an HDR10 input source.

The stand has tilt and height adjustments. It’s unclear is side to side swivel will be offered from the stand at this time. We can tell from the images that there is 1x DisplayPort, 2x HDMI, 1x headphone jack connections available.

On Amazon.com it is listed at a retail price of $549.99 and has an estimated 1 – 3 months shipping. More news on the specs and availability when we get it.

Update 3/7/19 – specs confirmed now with 5ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 16.7m colour depth and 99% sRGB gamut coverage.
