You can find our coverage of all the exciting Asus gaming monitor announcements and new screens in our video linked above.
Asus ROG Swift PG27AQWP-W

The headline announcement at the event was the unveiling of the world’s fastest OLED gaming monitor, a 27″ 1440p resolution OLED monitor offering a massive 540Hz native refresh rate, a dual-mode function for up to 720Hz (at 720p), a new TrueBlack glossy panel coating and a brand new design aesthetic! This is a flagship model that will be part of the ROG Swift monitor range, including all the latest features, connections and capabilities!

Asus ROG Swift PG27AQWP-W Specs

The Asus ROG Swift PG27AQWP-W is 26.5″ in size (27″ class) with a flat format and a 2560 x 1440 resolution. It’s built around a 4th Gen LG.Display WOLED technology panel, one that we saw recently confirmed by them as being successfully developed and ready to be adopted by monitor manufacturers.
The screen offers a 0.03ms G2G response time spec, 335 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99.5% DCI-P3 (and improved further compared with previous WOLED panels in fact).

For HDR the screen has been certified under the VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 tier and includes a peak brightness spec of 1500 nits (1.5% APL), and full-screen brightness of 335 nits (100% APL). This offers improvements over older-gen WOLED panels.
It has a 540Hz native refresh rate, the fastest refresh rate ever seen in an OLED screen to date, which is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems. That should include certification under the NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ and AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ schemes once it’s released.

A dual-mode function also allows you to increase the refresh rate to a whopping 720Hz while dropping your resolution to HD (1280 x 720, aka 720p) if you play certain lower resolution games, and want to prioritise raw speed and frame rates over image detail.

The PG27AQWP-W has an extensive host of connectivity options including DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20 with full 80Gbps bandwidth) and HDMI 2.1. It also features a tripod socket on the top of the stand for connecting a webcam.

A new aesthetic design

As you can see from our event photos, and the product photos provided by Asus, the screen has a brand new design with a new silver metal stand with cut-out sections, a silver rear panel enclosure and a transparent rear section where you can see inside the monitor and see some of the components. The lighting has also been switched to a blue colour for the Asus logo, lights on the base and projection logo feature.

We thought this looked really nice at the event, a welcome change from the common and long-standing black ROG Swift monitor design, and a sleek and modern look for this top-tier monitor. We’ve asked Asus if there are any plans to produce a black version as well, and will report back if we get any further information.

4th Gen Primary RGB Tandem WOLED Panel

The new 4th Gen Primary RGB Tandem Panel from LG.Display improves the brightness and colour performance, offering “15% higher peak brightness, 25% wider colour volume, and 60% longer lifespan versus previous-gen WOLED monitors“. It achieves these numbers thanks to the new panel structure, shifting from 3 light-emitting layers to 4. It also offers improved black depth in all lighting conditions and marks a fairly significant evolutionary step to their long-standing WOLED technology.
- You can find out loads more about 4th Gen WOLED technology in our video here.
TrueBlack glossy panel coating

Asus have also included their recently launched TrueBlack glossy panel coating on this screen, something that we’ve recently had chance to test in detail as part of our review of their other new screen (covered below), the ROG Strix XG27AQWMG.

The ROG TrueBlack Glossy coating allows the monitors to display supersharp and clear images and presents deep blacks under any lighting, an improvement on previous WOLED glossy coatings from last year. Where this has been combined with the 4th Gen WOLED panel, this helps improve black depth even further.

The coating also shifts to a true 0% haze finish, eliminating the minor visual grain evident on the previous glossy approaches which had a 3% haze rating. The anti-reflective coating also helps reduce reflections somewhat to ensure better visuals when gaming.
- You can find loads of testing and comparisons of the TrueBlack glossy coating in our XG27AQWMG review here.
OLED Care Pro

The built-in Asus OLED Care Pro technology includes a number of technologies and settings to help protect and extend the life of the panel, with the design including a custom heatsink for heat dissipation and Asus’ recently developed ‘Neo-Proximity Sensor‘. The advanced sensor detects the user’s presence to the monitor and changes to a black image when the user steps away, mitigating panel burn-in. The detection distance can be amended in the settings to your desired preference.
Launch date

The ROG Swift PG27AQWP-W is due to be released in Q4, maybe even as early as October we were told, but we will provide any firmer information when we get it. Pricing is still to be confirmed. We look forward to getting our hands on one of these screens in the coming months, so please look out for our review on the site in the future.
Asus ROG Strix XG27AQWMG

Another new screen being announced at the event officially is one that we’ve actually already had chance to review in full, bringing you a detailed review on day 1. The ROG Strix XG27AQWMG is a 27″ 1440p screen with a 280Hz refresh rate – a modest spec by today’s standards you might think, but the most interesting thing about this screen is the use of a new 4th Gen Primary RGB Tandem WOLED panel, combined with a glossy panel coating. That’s the same panel generation + coating combination as the flagship PG27AQWP-W covered above, but this time with a more modest spec / price / design.

Asus ROG Strix XG27AQWMG Specs

The Asus ROG Strix XG27AQWMG is 26.5″ in size (27″ class) with a flat format and is built around a 4th Gen Primary RGB Tandem WOLED Panel. One of the first screens to be launched using this panel, it offers a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 280Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms GTG response time spec, 335 nits brightness (SDR), 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99.5% of the DCI-P3 colour space. It also offers a factory calibrated Delta E<2 accuracy.

For HDR the screen has been certified under the VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500 tier and offers a peak brightness of 1500 nits (1.5% APL) and full-screen brightness of 335 nits (100% APL).

Like the ROG Swift PG27AQWP-W this features Tandem OLED technology and TrueBlack Glossy coating which are discussed in this article earlier, so we won’t repeat the same thing again here. It also comes with the built-in Asus OLED Care Pro technology and Neo-Proximity Sensor.

As demonstrated in the photos it has a new compact stand that is 30% smaller than those found on previous 27″ XG monitors. For connectivity there is a wide range of inputs including DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), HDMI 2.1 and USB Hub. It also features a handy tripod socket to attach a webcam on the top of the stand.
Launch date and pricing

The ROG Strix XG27AQWMG is due to be released late September we were told at the event, with a global retail price of $699 USD (before tariffs). You can check out our full, detailed review of this exciting new screen here.
Asus ROG Strix XG27AQDMGR (Gen 2)

Next up is a refresh of the first glossy WOLED monitor Asus released in 2024. The ROG Strix XG27AQDMGR (note the “R” on the end of the model name which stands for “refresh”) is a 2nd Gen version of the same screen, with some improvements and updates.
Firstly the glossy panel coating has been swapped out for the new TrueBlack finish, offering a sharper and clearer image, improved blacks and a grain-free image. Asus have updated the HDMI 2.0 ports to HDMI 2.1, updated to the new smaller stand foot, and added their Neo Proximity Sensor as well.

At the event Asus had this new screen (left) set up side by side with a semi-glossy QD-OLED screen (middle) and a matte anti-glare coated WOLED (right). You can see the impact that bright ambient lighting has on the QD-OLED panel especially, as well as on the matte panel which diffuses light sources more and causes blacks to get a little lighter than the glossy option, albeit that matte coating is better at handling reflections and glare than the glossy coating. It’s nice to have a range of options for different user preferences and use-cases. You can see these comparisons in more detail in our video from the event too.
Asus ROG Strix XG27AQDMGR (Gen 2) Specs

The XG27AQDMGR (Gen 2) is 26.5″ in size (27″ class), built around an LG.Display WOLED panel (note that this one is not a 4th Gen panel), offering a 240Hz refresh rate and 2560 x 1440 resolution. It boasts a 0.03ms response time spec, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% of the DCI-P3 colour space. For HDR performance it is certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black tier and the screen offers a factory calibrated Delta E<2 accuracy.

As featured in the other monitors mentioned above this includes the TrueBlack Glossy coating to provide sharper visuals, and includes the Neo Proximity Sensor for OLED care and burn-in mitigation. Like the new ROG Strix XG27AQWMG, it has a new compact stand allowing more space for your keyboard and mouse, and a tripod socket. For connectivity there are DisplayPort 1.4 input and HDMI 2.1 connections.
Launch date
The ROG Strix XG27AQDMGR (Gen 2) is due to be released at the end of September, pricing is pending.
Asus ROG Strix XG32UCWMG

Also showcased at Gamescom was a model we first saw unveiled at Computex 2025 in May. The Asus ROG Strix XG32UCWMG has a 31.5″ (32″ class) sized screen built around a WOLED technology panel with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution. The headline for this new screen is the addition of their TrueBlack glossy screen coating, giving you a glossy WOLED option in the 32″ segment for the first time.
There are actually 3 versions of this monitor coming out, all offering slightly different refresh rates. The first (and the one on show at the event – the XG32UCWMG) will have a 240Hz refresh rate, with a dual mode function allowing the user to double the refresh rate to 480Hz at a lower 1080p resolution.

The second one will have a 165Hz refresh rate, with a dual mode function allowing you to increase the refresh rate to 330Hz at the lower 1080p resolution (XG32UCWG). The final version will have a 240Hz refresh rate, without any dual mode function apparently, model name TBC it seems.

Launch date
The XG32UCWMG is in mass production now and has started to appear on some retailers now, you can check latest pricing and availability for your region here. You can find more info in our news piece here for this screen. We have the XG32UCWMG with us now for full review coming soon too!
Asus ROG Strix XG34WCDMTG

The Asus ROG Strix XG34WCDMTG is a 34″ ultrawide screen that we first saw unveiled at Computex in May. It’s a QD-OLED monitor (2nd Gen panel) with a 3440 x 1440 resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, a spec that we’ve seen a few times before. What makes this monitor different though is that it’s been combined with loads of Smart TV functionality, giving you a range of streaming apps and extras if you’re potentially looking for a hybrid monitor/TV for a bedroom or dorm room perhaps. Where you want an ultrawide for working or multi-tasking, or want to be able to use the range of PiP/PbP functions perhaps for handling multiple input sources at once.
Asus ROG Strix XG34WCDMTG Specs

The 34″ ultrawide screen has a 1800R curvature and 21:9 aspect ratio. It features a Gen 2 QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display, with a 3440 x 1440 resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time spec, 178/178 viewing angles and a wide colour gamut covering 99% of the DCI-P3 colour space. The 240Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems. For HDR there’s a peak brightness of 1000 nits, meeting the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black tier.

The screen has embedded Google TV Android 14 version, with pre-loaded NVIDIA GeForce Now. It comes with a handy remote control to make accessing all the built in apps and streaming services simple.

This hybrid TV/monitor combination also features integrated 2x 5W speakers for sound, and those support Dolby Atmos sound. There’s also support for HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR content. The integrated Wi-Fi 6.0 offers simple connectivity for all the built-in functions.
For connectivity there is DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 and USB Type-C (with 90W power delivery). One other feature that has been added is Peer-to-Peer connection, allowing you to easily work with multiple USB-connected devices like a laptop and a phone for instance, dragging and dropping images and files between the devices right from the screen.

Launch date
The XG34WCDMTG is due to be released in November, pricing is still TBC.
Asus ROG Strix XG248QSG ACE

The only non-OLED gaming monitor being showcased at Gamescom was a model we first saw announced at Computex in May. The ROG Strix XG248QSG ACE is a smaller format 24.1″ sized screen aimed at professional and esports gamers. It’s built around a ‘Super TN’ Film LCD panel with a 1920 x 1080 resolution that is still popular in that niche, with a massive 610Hz refresh rate. A range of added gaming features and blur reduction technologies make this an attractive option for competitive gamers, and it’s even being used as the monitor for all competitors across the upcoming Counter-Strike:Blast events during the coming months.
Asus ROG Strix XG248QSG ACE Specs

This is a 24.1″ sized screen built around a “Super TN” Film panel, offering a 1080p resolution and a massive 610Hz refresh rate. There’s a 0.1ms G2G response time spec, 170/160 viewing angles, 370 nits brightness (SDR) and an extended colour gamut covering 90% of the DCI-P3 colour space.
The impressive native refresh rate of 600Hz (610Hz overclocked) is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems and is certified under the NVIDIA G-sync Compatible’ and AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ Schemes.

Promoted by Asus as the ‘World’s fastest Esports monitor”, their GameFast technology delivers low input lag with 0.8ms which they say is “2.25x faster than competing esports monitors.”

The screen also supports Asus’ “Extreme Low Motion Blur 2” (ELMB 2) technology to minimise motion blur and ghosting, delivering exceptional motion clarity. In addition, when using ELMB 2 mode at the recommended level 3 setting, it offers 370 nits of brightness which they say is “roughly three times brighter than the first-generation tech, and 65% brighter than comparable solutions from our competitors.” Looking in the OSD menu also reveals the support foe ELMB-sync, allowing you to use this mode at the same time as VRR.

There’s an array of AI gaming features too, including AI Visual, Dynamic Shadow Boost and Dynamic Crosshair. Other user friendly features include Aspect Ratio Control and Asus’ Display Widget Center, their monitor management software.
The new sleeker design has a smaller base to free up more space for a keyboard and mouse and the ergonomic stand offers a wide range of adjustments so you can find your most comfortable position for gaming. For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 connections and a headphone jack.
Launch date
Update 6 Oct 2025 – the screen is now available to buy in some regions, including the US where it retails for $999.99 USD. You can check latest pricing and availability here (affiliate link). For a more detailed look at this monitor please click here to read our original news piece.
