Samsung Launch New Odyssey G95SD and G93SD 49″ Super Ultrawide QD-OLED Displays

As announced briefly back in January at CES, Samsung have now launched two new super-ultrawide curved gaming monitors in their Odyssey line-up. The G95SD and the G93SD both feature a 49” QD-OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and Dual QHD 5210 x 1440 resolution. The only difference between the two models other than price is that the G95SD boasts an array of Smart TV Features which are not included with the G93SD. Further details on both models below.
Samsung Odyssey QD-OLED G9 G95SD and G93SD Specs

The G95SD and the G93SD are both 49” in size with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a subtle 1800R curvature. They are built around Samsung Display QD-OLED panels (Gen 2) and offer a 5120 x 1440 resolution, 100 PPI pixel density, 0.03ms G2G response time spec, 1 million:1 contrast ratio, 250 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% of the DCI-P3 colour space.
The 240Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems, with certification achieved under the NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible and AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ schemes.

For HDR, both HDR10 and HDR10+ standards are supported. While not listed on the spec table, this is a familiar panel and so should offer 1000 nits peak brightness for HDR (3% APL) and certification under the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black tier.
Other features include Glare Free technology which is an added matte Anti-glare coating added to the panel by the monitor manufacturer, Samsung Electronics. This has been used on many of their other recent QD-OLED monitors. The screen also includes features like Dynamic Black Equaliser, Deep Black Levels and CoreSync and Core Lighting+.
There are a number of Samsung OLED Safeguarding features too, to ensure the longevity of the screen including Thermal Modulation System, Logo and Taskbar Detection and Screen Saver mode.

The stand provides a range of tilt, height and swivel adjustments.
Integrated Smart TV Entertainment with the G95SD
For when you want a break in your work or gaming sessions the G95SD version is also equipped with a range of Smart TV functionality, letting you stream shows and movies from services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. The Gaming Hub allows users to access services such as Xbox Games Pass and NVIDIA GeForce NOW. A remote control is included to provide easy access to the built in apps and streaming services.

Connectivity
For connectivity both screens have 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x Mini HDMI 2.1 and 1x USB Type-C . The screen also includes an integrated 2 x 10W stereo speaker system and PiP/PbP support for handling multiple devices.
