Philips Evnia 27M2D5901A Arrives with 27″ 5K dual-mode Fast IPS Panel and New AmbiScape Support

Philips have unveiled their new 5K dual-mode monitor this month at a press event in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The 27M2D5901A, part of their popular Evnia gaming range, took to the stage, offering up both high refresh rates and amazing visuals. This 27″ Fast IPS LCD panel boasts a stunning 5120 x 2880 “5K” resolution and native 165Hz refresh rate which can be doubled to 330Hz when dropping to a lower 2K resolution using a dual-mode function.
This gives you the flexibility to use the screen for highly detailed productivity work, office applications and perhaps even some graphically focused gaming with a “Retina class” resolution. It has a 218 PPI pixel density thanks to the 5K resolution available on the 27″ screen size. Or you can switch to the dual-mode operation and use the screen at a still-very-reasonable and common 1440p resolution for faster gaming situations where you might want to prioritise frame rates and speed over resolution.
This screen comes hot on the heels of the 27M2G5800 model which is another 5K dual-mode screen in the Evnia range announced earlier this month in China, with this 27M2D5901A model being the European release.

Philips Evnia 27M2D5901A Specs
There is no official product page for this model at this time but we know that this is a 27″ sized screen with a flat format and built around a ‘Fast IPS’ LCD technology panel. In other specs there is a 1ms G2G response time spec, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 95% of the DCI-P3 colour space.

The 165 / 330Hz refresh rates are supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems and is certified under the NVIDIA ‘G-sync compatible’ scheme for smooth, tear-free visuals.

The screen has a sleek white design and comes with a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. It also features Philips’s exclusive AmbiGlow immersive lighting technologies, a built-in monitor back light on the rear of the screen which changes colour based on what’s being displayed on the screen
New AmbiScape support

Developing the AmbiGlow technology further, Philips also introduced their new ‘AmbiScape‘ lighting system, a smart-home feature allowing you to integrate your screen lighting with additional external smart lights in your room for full immersion.

This can be synced with matter-certified smart light sources in a similar concept to Philips Hue, but in this instance the monitor itself acts as the hub and can control the operation and integration with the other light sources. This can provide an impressive all-room immersive experience for gaming and movies.

Connectivity
Connectivity options will include 2x HDMI 2.1, 1x DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR 20 speed), and USB Type-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 65W power delivery). In addition there are 2x USB-A data ports, a KVM switch function and 2x 5W integrated speakers.
It’s also worth mentioning that the monitor will include the Philips’ Evnia Precision Centre Software which allows you to customise your set-up to meet all of your gaming needs.
Availability and pricing
As stated previously there is no product page available but we were told at the event that this screen is expected to be available in Europe in July 2026 with a retail cost of €799.
