Gigabyte Aorus FI27Q Updates the AD27QD, Now With 165Hz Refresh Rate IPS Panel

Gigabyte will soon release an update to their popular Aorus AD27QD display which we reviewed back in April. The new FI27Q has a very similar design and spec, with the main change being an update to the supported refresh rate from 144Hz to 165Hz. It’s very much aimed at gaming again with a good range of extras and options available.

The screen is still based on a 27″ IPS panel from Innolux with 2560 x 1440 resolution. In other specs there is a 1ms MPRT listed still, along with 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit+FRC colour depth and a 95% DCI-P3 gamut. Adaptive sync is supported like the AD27QD, offering VRR support from G-sync and FreeSync systems. The ‘Aim stabilizer’ blur reduction backlight from the AD27QD is also kept for those who like those features. There are a decent range of gaming extras and settings as well, which we discussed in our AD27QD review in more detail.

Tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments are offered from the stand. There are DisplayPort 1.2a, 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.0 and a headphone jack offered for connectivity.

The rear of the monitor includes RGB LED lighting ‘wings’ and elements of the stand neck (including the AORUS falcon logo) that can be customised using RGB Fusion 2.0 software.
