BenQ Mobiuz EX381U Launched with a 37.5″ 4K IPS Panel and 144Hz Refresh Rate
BenQ have recently unveiled their new EX381U monitor, a large 37.5″ sized screen offering a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It’s built around a Fast-IPS panel and seems to be largely focused o console gamers. The larger screen size should offer increased immersion for gaming, and be more practical than smaller, more common 27 – 32″ sized 4K monitors when viewed from a more distant viewing position, as you might do for console gaming.

Spec wise the screen is built around a Fast-IPS technology LCD panel, featuring a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 1ms G2G response time spec, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits brightness (SDR), 600 nits peak brightness (HDR), 178/178 viewing angles, an 8-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 98% DCI-P3. The screen has a 144Hz refresh rate which is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR, including certificaiton under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ scheme. A motion blur reduction mode is also listed in the specs.
Feature wise there is eARC sound support which is still a pretty rare feature in the monitor segment and offers support for up to 7.1 channels, as well as the flexibility to use the built-in DAC even when using headphones. A KVM switch function is also available. The stand offers tilt, height and swivel adjustments. For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 (capabilities not listed) and 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 90W power delivery). There are also 3x USB A and 1x USB-C data ports.
