AOC Exhibit Their Latest OLED Gaming Monitors at Gamescom

AOC showcased their new large-format OLED gaming screens at this year’s Gamescom event in Cologne, to expand their AGON Pro OLED line-up. The flagship AGP497UCZD boasts a 49” super-ultrawide QD-OLED panel with a 32:9 aspect ratio and a 1800R curvature. It features a 5120 x 1440 resolution, delivering the same screen real estate as two 27” QHD monitors rolled into one for ultimate immersion. It also offers a 240Hz refresh rate and DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity.

The AGP346UCSD was also on display and this is a 34” ultrawide QD-OLED panel with a 3440 x 1440 resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate. This model was actually announced back in May so if you want to find out more information on this one then check out our previous news piece here.

AOC AGON Pro AGP497UCZD Specs

The display is a 48.9” in size (49″ class) with a super-ultrawide format, 32:9 aspect ratio and a subtle 1800R curvature. It is built around a 2nd Gen QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display, offering a 5120 x 1440 resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time spec, 32.9 aspect ratio, 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio, 250 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% of the DCI-P3, 100% of the sRGB and 98% of the adobe RGB colour spaces. The screen also offers a factory calibrated Delta E<1 colour accuracy.

The 240Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems. Other gaming features include Low Input Latency, Dynamic Crosshair, Dark Area Control, Enhanced Shadow Detail, Game Colour Tone adjustment and Frame Counter. It also offers one-click switching between gaming pre-set modes for easy access.

For HDR the panel is certified under the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 tier and offers a peak brightness of 1000 nits (3% APL).

The screen offers a range of tilt, height and swivel adjustments and features a metal headphone hook. It also comes equipped with Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technologies to reduce eye strain and fatigue and comes with a matte anti-glare screen coating to reduce reflections.

There are a number of OLED safeguarding features too, to ensure the longevity of the screen including Pixel Orbiting, Thermal Protection, Logo and Taskbar Detection and Screen Saver Mode. The monitor also comes with a 3-year warranty for added peace of mind.

Connectivity

Connectivity options include 1x DisplayPort 2.1, 2 x HDMI 2.1 and a USB Type-C (with DP Alt Mode and 90W power delivery). PiP/PbP modes are supported along with a KVM switch function. In addition there is a headphone jack, 2x 8W speakers and 3x USB Type-A ports.

Availability and pricing

Both the 49″ AGON Pro AGP497UCZD and the 32 4AGON Pro AGP346UCSD will be available from September at a MSRP of €999 Euro.
