BenQ Announce 27″ and 32″ 4K IPS Panels in Their Creative Pro V50 Series

BenQ have unveiled two models in their Creative Pro PV50 series aimed at professional users with a focus on colour accuracy and aimed at post-production workflows. Both the 27” sized PV2750U and the 32” sized PV3250U feature IPS LCD panels and offer a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolutions and 120Hz refresh rates, together with a whole host of productivity and connectivity features.

We will concentrate on the 32″ model in this article as there is currently no official product page available for the smaller model yet, although we understand that a a lot of the key specs will feature across both models.

BenQ PV3250U Specs

The PV3250U is a 32” sized screen (31.5″ accurate) and is built around an IPS LCD technology panel. It offers a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 140 PPI pixel density, 120Hz refresh rate, 5ms G2G response time spec, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 450 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth, including 1.07 billion colours, and a wide colour gamut covering 100% of the sRGB, 100% of the Rec.709 and 99% of the DCI-P3 colour spaces. The screen also comes with a factory calibrated Delta E<2 colour accuracy.

Powered by BenQ’s exclusive AQCOLOR technology it also offers hardware calibration via a 16-bit 3D LUT, and also includes corner-to corner uniformity correction and dark-tone clarity features for improved shadow details. The screen also comes certified with Calman Ready calibration which reduces the set-up time but not at the expense of colour accuracy which is maintained to the highest colour standard. There’s also an M-book mode for perfect Mac device colour matching.

For HDR content the monitor supports the industry-standard transfer function Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) for broadcast production. It also supports HDR10 content and is certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 600 tier with a peak brightness of 600 nits.

The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments and the screen also comes equipped with a detachable Magnetic Shielding Hood to help prevent glare on the screen. A wireless Hotkey Puck accessory is also included which allows you to control a range of monitor settings without the need to press any buttons on the scree itself.

Connectivity

For connectivity there is 1x Thunderbolt 4 (with DP Alt mode and 96W power delivery), 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.1 and various USB-A and USB-C data ports. To further enhance user experience the screen comes equipped with Thunderbolt daisy chaining too, and there’s a KVM switch function and PiP/PbP support for handling multiple devices. In addition, there is a headphone jack for audio.

Availability and pricing

The PV3250U is available to buy now priced at £1399.99 GBP but details of the release date and pricing for the 27″ model is awaited.
