AOC AGON Pro AG257QXL League of Legends Edition with 170Hz Announced
AOC have recently announced their new “AGON Pro AG257QXL League of Legends Edition” gaming screen, one that they have developed through a partnership with Riot Games and “inspired by League of Legends and its iconic Hextech technology.” This screen certainly has a very unique design and a range of unusual features that AOC are crafted specifically for the MOBA experience. The AG275QXL offers features such as the League of Legends Mode, the LoL QuickSwitch, exclusive power on/off sounds, Light FX Sync, and the LoL Signature OSD design. More info below.
The AOC press release says that “League of Legends is the most played PC game in the world with millions of players working together in high-stakes competition. AGON by AOC has created the first monitor specifically designed to bring the best experience of the rift to players everywhere with unique features such as reactive lighting to in-game events. Players of the renowned title will immediately notice the distinct style of the AG275QXL with its exciting Hextech inspired design that brings the world of magic and technology together.“
“We are thrilled about our partnership with Riot Games and the opportunity to combine our expertise in monitor technology with the League of Legends’ magic, which allows us to bring an exciting product to the League of Legends fans”, says Stefan Sommer, Global Head of Marketing & Business Management at AOC International Europe.
An unusual design inspired by League of Legends
The design and features of the screen are certainly not going to be for everyone. Those who hate “gamer” designs and features should probably look away now!
The AG257QXL offers a unique “LoL inspired designed” as AOC put it (LoL standing for “League of Legends” here by the way). The chassis and stand are embellished with elements of the iconic Hextech design seen throughout the League of Legends universe. Familiar AOC LightFX RGB lighting is included which can sync with your in-game action. There is some kind of on/off sound for the monitor as well, although we have no idea what that is or why someone might want it – presumably it can be disabled as well if needed.
Even the AOC Quick Switch accessory has been given the LoL makeover as you can see above.
There is also a dedicated “LoL mode” which is preset to optimise the experience in that particular game.
AOC AGON Pro AG257QXL Specs
The screen is 27″ in size and features an IPS-type panel. This offers a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 1ms G2G quoted response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio and 178/178 viewing angles. A 170Hz refresh rate is provided and this is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from both NVIDIA and AMD systems. The screen has been certified under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium’ scheme as well. Further specs are not provided at this time, we will update this when we know more.
Pricing and Availability
The AOC AGON PRO AG275QXL – League of Legends Edition will be available from March 2022 at a RRP of £399.99. It’s available to order from Overclockers in the UK now.
