Gigabyte unveil their AORUS ELITE monitor series

The key launch this year for Gigabyte is their new ‘AORUS ELITE’ series monitors. This new series offers an updated design aesthetic, new high-end features and top-tier performance. The range will incorporate various new models which are designed to offer better image quality, faster response, higher refresh rates and smarter features. Gigabyte say this series is all about “premium value: performance you can feel, visuals you can trust, and features that make every gaming experience more complete.”
A new design language
AORUS ELITE introduces a cleaner, sharper, and more refined design language, combining premium aesthetics with a slimmer stand footprint for today’s gaming setups.
Two premium display paths, built for different ways to play
The AORUS ELITE Series brings together both OLED and Mini LED technology offerings, giving gamers the freedom to choose between ultra-fast responsiveness and high-resolution HDR immersion.
AI OLED Care Pro and an improved warranty for some new OLED screens
Gigabyte are also taking steps to improve their OLED care features on their new monitors and are introducing their “AI OLED Care Pro” feature set, and an improved warranty cover as well on a couple of their new AORUS ELITE models.

Gigabyte say that the AORUS ELITE OLED models integrate heat pipes and thermal materials which they say can help distribute heat more evenly across the panel. This helps reduce hot spots, lower overall temperature, and maintain more consistent OLED performance over time.
- A new ‘Auto-lock’ feature offers built-in user presence detection and can automatically power down the display when users step away, and restore the display when they return. This helps reduce unnecessary panel usage during idle moments.
- An Adaptive Light feature can adjust brightness based on changing room lighting via an ambient light sensor, helping maintain a comfortable viewing experience while reducing unnecessary brightness stress on the panel.
Two of the new screens (the FO27Q28G and FO27Q24G) that we will discuss below also offer an extended 4-year warranty period, including burn-in cover. The other new ELITE models have the standard 3 year cover as with their other OLED monitors.
Let’s take a look at the specific new AORUS ELITE models being announced:
Two new 32″ 4K Tandem WOLED monitors – AORUS ELITE FO32U24GP and FO32U24G

The AORUS ELITE series will include not one, but two new 32″ 4K Tandem WOLED monitors. There’s been quite a lot of WOLED monitors of this size in the past from other brands, but the key update here is the shift to the latest 4th Gen Tandem WOLED technology panel for this segment. This offers improvements to brightness, colours and black depth compared with earlier-gen WOLED panels.

We saw one model announced from LG Electronics back at CES in January using this new panel, but Gigabyte are now releasing their own models. One key thing that will set Gigabyte’s offerings apart from some competing models is that theirs will use their ‘RealBlack glossy’ screen coating, offering a super sharp and clear image. These new screens feature the standard RGWB sub-pixel layout that we’ve seen on other previous 32″ WOLED panels.

The two models offer largely the same specs, with just a couple of differences with connectivity. They are both 31.5″ in size (32″ class) and offer a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution with a 240Hz native refresh rate. A dual-mode function supports 480Hz at 1080p for certain gaming situations. VRR will be supported via adaptive-sync, with certification under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ schemes.

Other specs include a 0.03ms G2G response time and 99.5% DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. For HDR the screens are certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black tier, including a peak brightness spec of 1500 nits (1.5% APL). The recently added HyperNits mode will feature (something we tested in detail recently) and offers brighter highlights without losing detail in the peak HDR modes. Optimized EOTF tuning increases brightness by up to 30% while preserving highlight details and avoiding overexposure.

The G model will offer DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR 13.5), 2x HDMI 2.1 (with eARC sound) and 1x USB-type C (65W) connectivity, while the GP model ups the DP connection to DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR 20). Both also offer 2x USB-A data ports, a headphone connection and 2x 5W integrated speakers.
The GP model also adds a range of A.I. features including AI upscaling, AI scene selections and AI sound. Both models feature a range of Gigabyte Tactical gaming features like their new HUD feature and Tactical crosshair features. So the main differences for the GP model are those AI features and the increased DP 2.1 bandwidth, which allows for DSC-free uncompressed signals if required.

Pricing and availability
The G model is due to be released around Aug/Sept at a price of $849 USD, while the GP model will arrive a little later in “late Q4” sometime at around $100 mode, priced at $949 USD.
Glossy 5K Mini LED monitor with 2,304 dimming zones – AORUS ELITE FM275K16

For users who want ultra-sharp detail and a stronger HDR impact, AORUS ELITE brings 5K Mini LED technology into a premium gaming display experience with the new FM275K16. This 27″ sized screen offers a 5120 x 2880 “5K” resolution IPS LCD panel delivering “Retina-level” clarity with a 218 PPI pixel density which makes game worlds, UI elements, text, and creative content appear cleaner and more precise.

The screen has a native 165Hz refresh rate (overclockable to 180Hz) and also offers a “multi-mode” feature, an extension of familiar dual-mode functions you’ve probably seen in the past, offering not one, but two alternative configurations. You can run the screen at 4K 220Hz, or also at 1440p 320Hz if you want to lower your resolution a bit and drive higher frame rates for certain gaming situations.

That’s an interesting evolution of dual-mode support, giving further flexibility and two very useable alternative resolutions on a 27″ screen. The high refresh rates are supported by adaptive-sync for VRR, and the screen will be certified under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ schemes.

The high-end 2,304-zone Mini LED backlight has advanced local dimming which enhances contrast, brightness control, and scene depth. It will meet the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification tier and offers a peak brightness spec of 1250 nits. This screen uses a panel from BOE which offers a “zero optical distance” to help minimise halos and blooming. The screen features a glossy screen coating as well for a super-sharp and clear image which we know many people will love.

In other specs there is a 1ms G2G response time spec and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3. This screen will also feature full-bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR 20) connectivity as well as 2x HDMI 2.1 (one of which also supports eARC sound) and 1x USB type-C with 15W power delivery. There’s also 2x USB-A data ports and a headphone connections.
2x 5W speakers are featured on this model and there’s a range of Gigabyte Tactical gaming features like their HUD feature, Tactical crosshair, AI Super Resolution and AI Picture Mode.
Pricing and availability
This screen is expected to be released towards the end of Q4 at a price of $999 USD.
27″ Tandem WOLED with 540Hz refresh rate – AORUS ELITE FO27Q54G

Gigabyte have also unveiled their new FO27Q54G, a 27″ Tandem WOLED monitor with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and 540Hz native refresh rate. This model includes their ‘RealBlack glossy’ screen coating and will offer an alternative to the existing Asus ROG Swift PG27AQWP-W that we’ve reviewed in the past. Some people didn’t like the silver design of the Asus model, so this Gigabyte option will be a welcome alternative.

This screen supports a dual-mode function for 720Hz at a lower 720p (1280 x 720) resolution, has a 0.03ms G2G response time, AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ certifications for VRR and 99.5% DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. It will meet the VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black tier, with a 1500 nits peak brightness spec (1.5% APL). HyperNits will also be included.

This screen will offer DisplayPort 2.1 (but only at UHBR 13.5 speeds so DSC will still be needed), 2x HDMI 2.1 (one with eARC sound) connectivity and 1x USB-type C (15W). There’s a range of Gigabyte Tactical gaming features like their HUD feature, Tactical crosshair, AI Super Resolution and AI Picture Mode.
Pricing and availability
This model is due to be released during Q3 at a price of $799 USD.
Two other new AORUS ELITE series WOLED monitors – AORUS ELITE FO27Q28G and FO27Q24G
Gigabyte have also announced updated AORUS ELITE series models of a couple of their most popular and affordable existing OLED screens, featuring 27″ 1440p WOLED panels.
FO27Q28G

First up is the FO27Q28G, an alternative to their super-popular MO27Q28G (and GR) display that we’ve reviewed in the past. This offers a 27″ Tandem WOLED panel with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and 280Hz refresh rate. They continue to feature their ‘RealBlack glossy’ screen coating on this new model as well and it will meet the VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black tier, with a 1500 nits peak brightness spec (1.5% APL). HyperNits will also be included.

There’s a 0.03ms G2G response time, AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ certifications for VRR and 99.5% DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. All these specs remain familiar to anyone who’s looked at the MO27Q28G/GR models before.

Upgrades as part of the ELITE series include DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity (UHBR 13.5 – enough to support an uncompressed signal), along with eARC sound over the HDMI connection. This model will also offer a 4-year warranty including burn-in cover that we discussed earlier, thanks to the new AI OLED Care Pro feature set and heat-pipe cooling that’s been added. This also incorporates their new Auto-lock motion sensor and Adaptive-light ambient light sensor.
There’s also a range of Gigabyte Tactical gaming features like their HUD feature, Tactical crosshair and AI Picture Mode.

Pricing and availability
This model is due to be released during July at an attractive price point of $549 USD.
FO27Q24G
The second new model was not actually on show at Computex, but it is the FO27Q24G. This is an AORUS ELITE series version of their recently launched GO27Q24G that we’ve very recently reviewed. This one uses the same 3rd Gen WOLED panel with MLA+ (not a Tandem WOLED panel) as the GO model with a 2560 x 1440 resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. It will continue to feature their ‘RealBlack glossy’ screen coating too.
There’s a 0.03ms G2G response time, AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ certifications for VRR and 98.5% DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. It will meet the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black tier, with a 1300 nits peak brightness spec (1.5% APL). HyperNits will also be included. All these specs remain familiar to anyone who’s looked at the GO27Q24G model before.

Upgrades as part of the ELITE series include eARC sound over the HDMI connection, although note that it has DP 1.4 and not anything higher there. This model will also offer a 4-year warranty including burn-in cover that we discussed earlier, thanks to the new AI OLED Care Pro feature set. That also incorporates their new Auto-lock motion sensor and Adaptive-light ambient light sensor. There’s a range of Gigabyte Tactical gaming features like their HUD feature, Tactical crosshair and AI Picture Mode.
Pricing and availability
This model is due to be released during July at an attractive price of $449 USD.
