MSI Modern MD272UPSW Smart Monitor Announced for CES 2025
MSI have today announced their new Modern MD272UPSW Smart Monitor, a screen that will be showcased next week at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. This is a 27″ display that incorporates a range of Smart-TV features such as Google TV and Google Assistant, with a range of features and capabilities not often seen in the monitor market, and more common in the TV space.
MSI Modern MD272UPSW Specs
The new screen is 27″ in size with a flat format IPS-type panel. It has a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 4ms G2G response time, 60Hz refresh rate, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, an 8-bit+FRC colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering ~127% sRGB, or 98% DCI-P3 / 94% Adobe RGB.
For connectivity the screen has 1x DisplayPort 1.4a, 2x HDMI 2.0b and 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode and 65W power delivery). There’s also 2x USB data ports, 1x RJ45 LAN and 1x headphone jack provided. A KVM switch function is provided as well as PiP/PbP support, including the ability to wirelessly cast phones and other compatible devices via Google Cast to the screen as shown in the image above.
The screen also includes integrated Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Some 2x 3W Dolby Audio speakers are also built in to the screen. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.

Pricing and availability
