Acer have released details of an interesting new model in their Predator gaming lineup on Chinese shopping website Taobao. The Predator XB323U is 32″ in size and features an IPS panel with 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 170Hz refresh rate.

Spec wise the 32″ screen features an AU Optronics AHVA (IPS-type) panel, 2560 x 1440 resolution, 1ms G2G response time (0.5ms G2G apparently in the “fastest” mode), 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 1.07b colour depth (8-bit+FRC) and a wide colour gamut covering 95% DCI-P3 and 99% Adobe RGB.

The screen offers a 170Hz maximum refresh rate and supports adaptive-sync for VRR from both AMD and NVIDIA systems. It will also be ‘G-sync Compatible’ certified apparently. The VRR range is 48 – 170Hz, with LFC also supported for lower refresh rates. Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) is also listed in the features, allowing for a strobing blur reduction backlight mode.

It also carries the VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification which means it can offer peak brightness in HDR of up to 600 cd/m2, and also must therefore include some form of local dimming (edge lit).

The stand offers tilt, height and rotate functions (seemingly not swivel though), and there are DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 ports provided along with 4x USB 3.0 and a headphone jack. There are also 2x 2W integrated speakers.

Further information can be found on Chinese shopping website Taobao, where it’s listed for ~6000 Chinese Yuan (about $850 USD). It is expected to be available there in May 2020. Further details and info when we get them on regional release and pricing.
