Acer Announce Predator XB3 Series Including 27″ IPS with 1440p and 270Hz Refresh Rate Combined

Acer have announced three new models in their new Predator XB3 range. These are the 27″ sized XB273U GS and XB273U GX, as well as the 24.5″ sized XB253Q GZ. All three models will support adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates from AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-sync systems. Certification under the ‘G-sync Compatible’ scheme is expected although not confirmed yet.

  • XB273U GX – 27″ in size with a 2560 x 1440 resolution IPS panel and 270Hz overclocked refresh rate which is not something currently available in the IPS gaming market. There is a 400 cd/m2 brightness, 16.7m colour depth and 178/178 viewing angles. It looks like this model might feature a standard sRGB gamut although this is not confirmed at the moment. For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x USB type-C, 4x USB 3.0 and an audio output. It is expected to be available in August in EMA, September in North America.

  • XB273U GS – 27″ in size with a 2560 x 1440 resolution IPS panel, 1ms G2G response time and 165Hz refresh rate. There is a 400 cd/m2 brightness, 16.7m colour depth, 178/178 viewing angles and a wide colour gamut with 95% DCI-P3 coverage. For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.0 and an audio output. It is expected to be available in August in EMA, September in North America.

  • XB253Q GZ – 24.5″ in size with a 1920 x 1080 resolution IPS panel, 1ms G2G response time and 240Hz refresh rate. There is a 400 cd/m2 brightness, 16.7m colour depth, 178/178 viewing angles and a standard colour gamut with 99% sRGB coverage. For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI 2.0, 2x USB 3.0 and an audio output. It is expected to be available in August in EMA, September in North America.
