Samsung Odyssey G80SH Officially Launched – a New 32″ 4K Penta Tandem QD-OLED Monitor

This model was originally announced and showcased at CES 2026 in January, but with very little information available at the time. Samsung Korea have now announced the official launch of this new monitor though, with a full product page available in some regions. This is a new 32″ sized monitor with a 4K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, featuring the latest 4th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel technology. That represents a change compared to their earlier 32″ 4K QD-OLED panels bringing most notably improvements to brightness.

Samsung Odyssey G80SH specs
The screen is 31.5″ in size (32″ class) with a flat format. It offers a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 140 PPI pixel density, 0.03ms G2G response time, 300 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3. The screen comes ‘Pantone Validated’ for colour accuracy. The 240Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR, including certification under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ schemes.

The screen has also been certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black tier, representing an improvement in brightness compared with their previous HDR 400 True Black certified models of this size. It still has a 1000 nits peak brightness spec though. Their screen can support HDR10+ content as well which is unique to Samsung’s OLED monitors at this time.
Coating

Samsung’s model features a matte anti-glare coating like their previous QD-OLED models from the last couple of years, which helps reduce reflections and flare by up to 54% they say. This is different to the typical semi-glossy coating you see from competing QD-OLED monitors on the market, including others available using this new panel (e.g. Asus and MSI).
Samsung don’t promote the inclusion of the new ‘QuantumBlack film‘ option which the panel manufacturer Samsung Display offer for all their latest 2026 panels. That is an optional add-on, so we’re not sure if that means they’ve opted not to take it, or whether they’re just not marketing it specifically (which would seem odd). That film can help improve black depth, panel hardness and ambient light handling but it seems like perhaps it’s not featured here which would be a shame.
Connectivity

Connectivity includes full-speed 1x DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20), 2x HDMI 2.1 and 1x USB type-C (with 98W power delivery). There’s also 2x USB-A data ports and a headphone connection provided. There is unfortunately no KVM switch or PiP/PbP support. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.
