Samsung Launch the New 27″ 4K Odyssey G80SH With a Penta Tandem QD-OLED Panel

Samsung Korea have announced the official launch of this new monitor, with a full product page available in some regions, following on from the news of the 32″ version covered here. This is a new 27″ sized monitor with a 4K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, featuring a 4th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel.

Samsung Odyssey G80SH specs
The screen is 26.5″ in size (27″ class) with a flat format. It offers a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 166 PPI pixel density, 0.03ms G2G response time, 250 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3. The screen comes ‘Pantone Validated’ for colour accuracy. The 240Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR, including certification under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ schemes.

The screen has been certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black tier with a 1000 nits peak brightness spec. Their screen can support HDR10+ content as well which is unique to Samsung’s OLED monitors at this time.
Coating

Samsung’s model features a matte anti-glare coating like their previous QD-OLED models from the last couple of years, which helps reduce reflections and flare by up to 54% they say. This is different to the typical semi-glossy coating you see from competing QD-OLED monitors on the market, including others available using this new panel (e.g. Asus and MSI).
Samsung don’t promote the inclusion of the new ‘QuantumBlack film‘ option which the panel manufacturer Samsung Display offer for all their latest 2026 panels. That is an optional add-on, so we’re not sure if that means they’ve opted not to take it, or whether they’re just not marketing it specifically (which would seem odd). That film can help improve black depth, panel hardness and ambient light handling but it seems like perhaps it’s not featured here which would be a shame.
Connectivity

Connectivity includes full-speed 1x DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20), 2x HDMI 2.1 and 1x USB type-C (with 98W power delivery). There’s also 2x USB-A data ports and a headphone connection provided. There is unfortunately no KVM switch or PiP/PbP support. The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.
Pricing and availability
The G80SH is available to pre-order now in some regions, including in the US from Samsung and Amazon for $1099.99 USD. No UK availability yet but Samsung Germany lists it at a price of €1,029 Euro with an ETA of 5 June 2026. You can check latest availability and pricing for your region using our affiliate link here.
