ViewSonic VP2788-5K ColorPro 5K Monitor Released with Thunderbolt 4

ViewSonic have launched their first “5K” monitor which is aimed at professional users. The VP2788-5K features a 27” IPS panel, offering a “5K” 5120 x 2880 resolution and high pixel density of 218 PPI for high levels of colour accuracy and stunning visuals. It’s well-suited to Mac users with this high resolution and support for Thunderbolt 4 connections.

ViewSonic VP2788-5K Specs

The ViewSonic VP2788-5K is a 27” sized flat screen IPS panel, with a 5120 x 2880 “5K” resolution,  and a 218 PPI pixel density. It has a response time spec of 5ms G2G, 2000:1 contrast ratio, 500 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit (8-bit +FRC) colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3 (and 100% sRGB). It comes factory calibrated with a dE < 2 offered. The screen has only a limited 75Hz maximum refresh rate.

It has a matte Anti-Glare Low Reflection (AGLR) screen coating and the stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel, and rotate adjustments. Some of the additional features include a 5-way OSD controller and PiP/PbP support and comes with a 3-year warranty for peace of mind.

The screen is and “Pantone” validated for colour accuracy and also supports hardware level calibration via a range of calibration devices.

Connectivity

For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.1 and 2x Thunderbolt 4 (with DP-Alt mode, 100W power delivery and data). There are also 2x USB-C data ports (with 15W power delivery), and 2x USB-A ports as well as an audio output. It also includes a KVM function should you need it.
