Following on from the announcement in early March, Dell have today officially released their new 34″ ultrawide QD-OLED monitor in their Alienware gaming monitor line-up and it is listed on their product page here (affiliate link). The AW3425DW is the successor to the very popular AW3423DW and AW3423DWF that were released back in 2022, with the former actually being the first consumer OLED gaming monitor released at the time. Dell have utilised a newer QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display for this new model, a Gen 2 panel in fact (the older models used a Gen 1 panel) which has an increased refresh rate of 240Hz, a step up from the old 175Hz offered. It retains the same 3440 x 1440 resolution though for its 34″ ultrawide, 21:9 aspect ratio panel.

Dell Alienware AW3425DW Specs

The screen is 34″ in size with an ultrawide format and a subtle 1800R curvature. It has a 3440 x 1440 resolution, 110 PPI pixel density, 0.03ms G2G response time, 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio, 250 nits typical brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, a 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99.3% DCI-P3.

It has a 1000 nits peak brightness (3% APL) spec for HDR and is certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black tier.

The screen has a 240Hz refresh rate which is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems, with certifications received under the NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ and AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ schemes.

An enhanced anti-burn-in AI algorithm coupled with an anti-burn-in graphite sheet protects your screen from unwanted burn-in and is backed by a 3-year warranty.

Connectivity

For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC) and 2x HDMI 2.1 (with FRL and VRR support) provided. PiP and PbP modes are supported for handling multiple video inputs. There is also 1x USB-A and 1x USB-C (with 15W power delivery, data only) provided on the bottom edge of the screen. The stand offers tilt, height and swivel adjustments.

Pricing and Release Data

The screen is available now on Dell.com at a price of $799 USD. Other regions will follow in the near future. You can keep an eye on product availability and pricing from leading retailers using this link too (affiliate link).
