Samsung Launch M9 Smart Monitor with QD-OLED Panel and Update the M7 and M8 too

A bit of information was provided for this screen back in January for CES 2025, but we now have a lot more detail about Samsung’s new M90SF Smart Monitor to share. This has been unveiled this week alongside the updated Smart Monitor M8 (M80F) and M7 (M70F) displays. The M9 introduces QD-OLED panel technology to the Smart Monitor series, as well as some “AI-powered enhancements”.
Samsung Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF)

The Smart Monitor M9 introduces QD-OLED panel technology to the Smart Monitor line-up for the first time. It’s a 32″ sized monitor with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate (using a Gen 3 QD-OLED panel). It has the usual 0.03ms G2G response time and supports adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems, including certification under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ scheme.
It has achieved Pantone Validated certification. This certification assures users that the M9 has passed the rigorous standards of testing and can replicate over 2,100 colours and more than 110 SkinTone shades from Pantone’s library. In other specs there is a 250 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3. The screen is certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black tier and supports HDR10 and HDR10+ content.

Samsung OLED Safeguard+ technologies helps maintain screen integrity over time with a proprietary cooling system designed to reduce the risk of burn-in. The M9 also features a “Glare-Free” display (their added matte anti-glare coating like other QD-OLED monitors in Samsung’s range), to minimise reflections and ensure consistent visibility and comfort — even in bright lighting conditions.

The M9 is powered by their by the NQM AI Gen3 Processor featuring AI Picture Optimiser, 4K AI Upscaling Pro and Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) Pro, which work together to enhance picture and sound quality in real time based on content and surroundings. Whether users are watching, creating or multitasking, the display adapts automatically to deliver optimised performance. The M9 also serves as a smart entertainment hub with access to popular streaming apps, Samsung TV Plus and Samsung Gaming Hub — which enables cloud-based gaming without a connected console or PC.
The M9 also features a slim metal design that blends premium aesthetics with functional form, creating a modern look that complements any workspace. The stand offers tilt, height and rotate adjustments.
For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.1 and 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode and 90W power delivery) as well as 2x USB data ports. There’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support along with an integrated 5MP webcam / mic and 2x 10W speakers.
Updated M8 and M7 models

The new Smart Monitor M8 and Smart Monitor M7 extend Samsung’s smart monitor experience to a broader audience, offering 32″ sized monitors with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and with built-in AI features. Equipped with Samsung’s advanced VA LCD panel technology, both models “deliver sharp detail and rich contrast, making them ideal for everyday productivity, streaming and much more.”

Both displays support AI-powered discovery tools, including ‘Click to Search’. These features help users explore content, retrieve information, and engage with their screen more intuitively, while Tizen OS Home personalises recommendations and makes it easier to access frequently used services and inputs.
SmartThings, Multi Control and Multi View support

Designed for flexibility, all three models integrate with SmartThings, support Multi Control between Samsung devices and offer Multi View for side-by-side working or entertainment. With Microsoft 365 access, users can create and edit documents directly from the monitor without a PC, making the line-up a practical solution for modern work setups.
