World’s first 32″ 4K 360Hz QD-OLED monitor with Triple-Mode

First up from MSI and definitely one of the most exciting screen to be announced at this years Computex event was the MPG OLED 322URDX36 which features a brand-new panel from Samsung Display, a panel that was actually announced a couple of days prior to the event.

The screen has a 32” sized 5th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel, with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and a native 360Hz refresh rate. That’s the first time we’ve seen that refresh rate from a 4K OLED monitor, pushing beyond the 240Hz limit (at 4K) that we’ve had over the last couple of years.

New triple-mode support for QD-OLED

If that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, we also saw them announce the panel’s “Triple-Mode” function which will allow you to switch between 4K at 360Hz (native), 1440p at 520Hz and 1080p at a massive 680Hz depending on your gaming scenario. This is the first time that any QD-OLED technology panel has supported a “dual-mode”-type function, and it’s great to see that now being offered from their OLED technology.

RGB-stripe and DarkArmor Film

Its also got an RGB stripe sub-pixel layout to help eliminate fringing and text clarity problems to enhance the image, something that we saw first from their 34″ ultrawide panels launched at the start of the year (e.g. MSI MPG 341CQR X36). The display is also equipped with what MSI market as ‘DarkArmor’ film to provide 40% deeper blacks, improve ambient light handling and increase the panel hardness and scratch resistance. Again, we’ve seen that on other recent 2026 QD-OLED panels and it does a nice job in those areas. A very welcome addition to the QD-OLED panel line-up this year.

DisplayHDR 600 True Black certification

This screen will also deliver exceptional HDR capabilities too with certification under the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 tier, which is one of the first monitors we have seen so far featuring this tier (the other being the new Asus 24.5″ OLED monitor).

It will have a peak brightness spec of 1500 nits which is another step up even from their 34” ultrawide model released this year. It will also offer >600 nits for 10% APL and 350 nits for 100% APL (and for SDR brightness). The screen will also support MSI’s exclusive ‘Uniform Luminance’ feature which allows users to customise their HDR curve.

Other features

It also features MSI’s exclusive AI Care Sensor which will detect user presence to automatically adjust OLED care settings accordingly. There is an array of connectivity options too which include 1x DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20), 2x HDMI 2.1, 1x USB Type-C (with DP Alt Mode and 98W power delivery), 2x USB Type-A ports, 1x USB Type-B port and a headphone jack. You can see from the photos that the screen has an updated design aesthetic as well.

Pricing and availability

Timelines and pricing for this model are still to be finalised. The newly announced panel is not expected to go in to mass production until very late in the year, or early Q1, and so monitor availability isn’t expected until Q1 2027 at best. We expect to see this again in a more final version at CES in January, as the screen at Computex was very much a prototype and mock up for the purposes of supporting the announcement.

MSI bring an updated Penta Tandem panel into the 27″ 1440p QD-OLED space

Second up to grace the MSI booth was the MAG OLED 271QPX32 which is the world’s first 27” 2560 x 1440 resolution QD-OLED monitor to feature a new 2026 panel from Samsung Display, specifically part of their 4th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED technology range and bringing with it a number of improvements.

All previous 27” 1440p QD-OLED panels adopted their 3rd Generation technology and this screen has updated to its 4th Gen Penta Tandem here with this new panel which sees a shift to a 5-layer OLED structure using their latest EL 3.0 material, as well as adding their ‘DarkArmor film’ to improve the black depth and panel hardness and boost the light efficiency by up to 30%.

Improved brightness and HDR capabilities

The EL 3.0 material also improves the brightness of the panel, and this screen will be certified under the VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black tier, with a peak brightness spec of 1300 nits and 300 nits for full screen and SDR. That’s a 30% increase in the peak brightness compared with earlier-gen 27″ 1440p QD-OLED panels, and a welcome upgrade for sure.

Refresh rate and other specs

It has a 320Hz refresh rate which will be supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems and there is also certification under the NVIDIA ‘G-sync compatible’ scheme. Other gaming features include a 0.03ms G2G response time spec, Super Low Motion Blur technology (previously called MPRT by MSI) and certification under the VESA ClearMR 15000 tier, all helping to deliver superior motion clarity with minimal motion blur.

Other features

The screen will also support MSI’s exclusive ‘Uniform Luminance’ feature which allows users to customise their HDR curve. For connectivity there is 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1, 1x USB Type-C (with DP Alt Mode and 15W power delivery) and a headphone jack.

Pricing and availability

This model is expected to be released in December 2026 at a price of $549 USD.

Introducing the World’s first 32″ 4K QD-OLED Edge panel for budget-friendly 32″ OLED

We also saw another interesting model on show this week, which will appeal to those budget conscious gamers out there. The MAG OLED 321UPX18 is a 32″ sized screen and utilises what Samsung Display are calling a QD-OLED Edge panel, a panel that is aimed at more entry-level customers who want a solid introduction into the world of OLED without the hefty price-tags. We have seen a lot of these Edge panels on a number of 27″ 1440p models to date but this is the first time we are seeing it on a 32″ 4K screen which is what should make this appealing to anyone who wants to save some money.

Brightness capabilities are lower, but the cost is very good

This screen offers a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and 180Hz refresh rate. The panel does not include their ‘DarkArmor’ film coating and it will not have the brightness capabilities of traditional QD-OLED panels; that’s one of the key sacrifices made with these QD-OLED Edge panels.

It does come with a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and only offers a 400 nits max HDR mode (no peak 1000 mode). For SDR the luminance is expected to be 200 nits maximum as well. We will be providing some further information and updates on QD-OLED Edge in the hear future too as part of a wider panel update.

In other specs we saw this one offer a 0.03ms G2G response time spec, Super Low Motion Blur technology, ClearMR 10000 certification, support for NVIDIA G-sync, 24.5″/27″ aspect ratio modes, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% of the DCI-P3 colour space. It also offers a factory calibrated Delta E<2 accuracy too. Again, like the majority of the other new screens we saw at Computex this one also includes MSI’s Uniform Luminance feature and comes with a 3-year warranty which includes burn-in protection.

Pricing and availability

Pricing and release date for this model is still TBC, we’d expect to see it during Q4 2026.

The MEG X moves closer to production with a range of A.I. gaming features

Another eagerly awaited screen we saw was the MEG X which sees the return of their flagship MEG series and one which they are referring to as a “true AI gaming monitor”. We first saw this on show at CES 2026 in January when it was at the early prototype stage and it was great to see it again here at a more advanced stage, which means it will be coming to market soon.

5th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel

The MEG X features a 34” ultrawide screen built around Samsung Displays 5th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel, which is the same panel used on the MPG 341CQR X36 (reviewed) with its RGB-stripe sub-pixel layout and ‘DarkArmor’ film. The screen also has a subtle 1800R curvature, a 3440 x 1440 resolution and an impressive 360Hz refresh rate.

A wide range of A.I. features – introducing “LuckyClaw”

What sets this apart from other monitors though is it also integrates a number of AI functions to enhance the user experience and gameplay. This includes six built-in AI features including AI Scene, AI Gauge, AI Vision+, AI Audio Scene, AI Super Resolution and AI Crosshair. It also includes MSI’s “LuckyClaw AI Agent” mascot which provides integration between the monitor and your MSI software/PC.

Another neat feature of this screen is the inclusion of a SpectrumBar+ which is a strip of RGB lighting under the MSI logo at the bottom of the screen. This SpectrumBar+ can integrate with the AI Gauge feature to recreate your health bar on the strip. You can also sync the colour so that it which matches the content on your screen or use it for audio synchronisation as well.

Other specs and features

The 360Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates from compatible systems and there is support for NVIDIA ‘G-sync compatible’ scheme. Other gaming features include a 0.03ms G2G response time spec and ClearMR 18000 certification.

The new 5th-Gen QD-OLED panel offers updated HDR capabilities with certification under the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 tier and a peak brightness spec of 1300 nits (with 3% APL). The screen will also support MSI’s exclusive ‘Uniform Luminance’ feature which allows users to customise their HDR curve.

There are a number of safety features on this screen to mitigate the risk of burn-in and increase the longevity of the panel, which include MSI’s OLED Care 3.0 feature set and their exclusive AI Care Sensor and it also comes with a 3-year warranty.

Connectivity includes 1x DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20) input which is an upgrade over the MPG model which had DP 1.4, along with 2x HDMI 2.1 inputs, 1x USB Type-C connection (with DP-Alt mode and 98W power delivery), 2x USB Type-A ports, 1x USB Type-B port and 1x headphone jack.

Pricing and availability

The screen is expected to be released in Nov 2026 at a price of $1,599 USD.

5K Dual-mode glossy Mini-LED gets an update

Also on display this week were MSI’s two 5K dual-mode displays which again were another two screens that we first saw at CES in January. They both feature a 27” Rapid IPS panel, 5120 x 2880 “5K” resolution and dual-mode functionality, delivering both ultra-clear visuals and smooth and fluid gameplay.

MPG 271KRAW18 with Mini LED and glossy coating

First up is the MPG 271KRAW18 (previously known as the MPG 271KRAW16), which is part of MSI’s premier MPG range. It features a 27” ‘Rapid IPS’ panel with a 5120 x 2880 “5K” resolution and a 218 PPI pixel density for a retina-level experience, providing 77% more viewing space than 4K.

This model now has a 180Hz refresh rate in 5K mode (updated from 165Hz) which can be doubled to 330Hz when dropping to a 1440p resolution using a dual-mode function.

Note: Mini LED model on the left, compared with standard LCD on the right

This model has an impressive 2,304 local dimming zone Mini LED backlight and Quantum Dot coating technology offers high-end HDR capabilities, with excellent local dimming, as well as certification under the VESA DisplayHDR 1400 tier and a high peak brightness of >1400 nits.

Also of particular note is that this screen will feature a glossy screen coating to help colours appear more vibrant and blacks sharper and inkier.

It also boasts enhanced connectivity options which include 1x DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR20) which is an update to the previously expected spec for this model. That’s along with 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x USB Type-C (with DP Alt Mode and 98W power delivery), 2x USB Type-A,1x USB Type-B and a headphone jack.

Pricing and availability

This model has been delayed a bit and is likely to be released in early January we are told. Pricing is still to be finalised.

MSI MAG 271KPD7 provides dual-mode with quad boost

The second 5K dual-mode screen on show was the MAG 271KPD7 which, like the premier MPG version, features a 27″ ‘Rapid IPS’ panel with a high pixel density 5120 x 2880 resolution.

This model has a lower native 75Hz refresh rate, but the dual-mode function allows you to increase your speed to 300Hz when dropping to a lower 1440p resolution, which is great if you want to switch between games that require stunning visuals and those that require speed. MSI are calling this boost in refresh rate “Quad Boost” as it can go 4x’s the native 75Hz refresh rate.

There’s no Mini LED backlight on this model and it has a normal matte AG coating (not glossy). Connectivity includes 2x HDMI 2.1, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x USB Type-C (with DP Alt Mode and 15W power deliver), 2x USB Type-A, and a headphone jack. It also includes a KVM switch function.

Pricing and availability

This model will arrive sooner than the KRAW18, due in Sept 2026 at a price of $799 USD.

MSI brings a flat 34″ ultrawide QD-OLED monitor into the professional market

We will finish off with an interesting screen that we saw in the professional space with a focus on work and productivity and that is the MSI PRO MAX 341QPXW14G which offers for the first time a flat 34″ ultrawide QD-OLED panel, rather than the 1800R curvature that we are used to seeing in this space from all previous 34″ QD-OLED panels.

This is built around Samsung Display’s newest 5th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED technology with a 5-layer OLED stack and an RGB-stripe sub-pixel layout for clear and sharp text. It also comes with ‘DarkArmor’ film for improved black depth and panel hardness.

Interestingly this screen also utilises what MSI are referring to as “VisiClarity” technology which is Samsung Display’s optional Anti-Glare Low Reflection (AGLR) coating finish meaning this will be well suited to those brightly lit, office environments.

This screen will also offer 144Hz refresh rate spec (again a first in this space), 21:9 aspect ratio with certifications under the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 tier and the ClearMR 1000 tier.

You will not be surprised to learn that there are a lot of connectivity options too which include DisplayPort, HDMI and USB Type-C (with DP Alt Mode and 98W power delivery). The screen also includes PiP/PbP support for handling multiple video inputs, and it also includes a 3-device KVM function.

This screen has a very attractive and sleek white design which will give your desk a very clean and modern look, and it will also feature MSI’s AI Care Sensor to help mitigate the risk of burn-in.

Pricing and availability

This model is expected to be launched in October 2026 at a price of $849 USD.
