“Exceed industry standards” with the ProArt Display OLED PA32USD

The most impressive screen showcased here was undoubtedly the ProArt PA32USD which was unveiled by Asus a few weeks ago and we were pleased to see in person here this week. It features a 31.5” screen (32” class) and is built around a Samsung Display QD-OLED panel, with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, and comes packed full of professional level features and modern connectivity options.

The OLED panel makes this screen well suited for HDR content creation and consumption with support for multiple formats offered here, including HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision HDR formats. There’s also a peak brightness of 1000 nits (3% APL), per pixel level dimming for exceptional contrast, and it comes with certification under the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 tier.

It also offers a 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% of the DCI-P3 colour space, providing exceptional colour reproduction. The screen is factory calibrated to Delta E<1 colour accuracy and is equipped with a number of features to ensure consistent and professional grade colour accuracy across the board.

There’s a built-in motorised flip colorimeter to enable auto self-calibration, ProArt Hardware Calibration technology and the ProArt Colour Center online tool. It also comes Calman-ready and supports the Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS professional hardware-calibration software too.
It comes with a 3-year warranty and ASUS OLED Care feature set, including a proximity sensor to turn the screen off when you move away, to mitigate the risk of burn-in.

The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments and is equipped with a detachable light-shielding hood to help prevent glare on the screen. It comes with unique portability features too including dual stand options and a handle so it can easily be transported and set up whilst on location. You can see from the image here it was set-up with two short feet which is ideal for on-location usage as well as a detachable shading hood to reduce glare and reflections during usage.
This model is loaded with first class connectivity features too including dual Thunderbolt 4 connectivity (one supporting up to 96W power delivery and the other offering daisy-chain support), DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1. It also includes dual 12G-SDI inputs which support uncompressed video signals at up to 4K at 60Hz.

In addition the screen also offer PiP/PbP support for handling multiple input sources and devices and a KVM switch function. There’s also a built-in USB 3.2 hub with 2x USB Type-A and 1x USB Type-C ports available, along with 2 x 3W integrated speakers and a headphone jack for audio.

This model is also offered in a smaller 27” size but this wasn’t on display at Computex. The PA27USD version is almost identical in specs, the notable differences being in the the pixel density with the 27” model reaching 166 PPI instead of 140 PPI on the 32” model and it only has one 12G-SDI input instead of two.
The ProArt PA27USD should be available to buy now in some regions with an expected pricing of $2,199 USD (or $2,599 USD for the Panaro Max Rugged Case Edition) with the ProArt PA32USD expected to be available soon after in June for $2,699 USD.

ProArt Display OLED PA279CDV and PA329CDV

Next up are the ProArt PA279CDV and the ProArt PA329CDV models, which both feature 4K resolution QD-OLED panels and 120Hz refresh rate. We did actually see the PA279CDV version at CES in January but this is the first time we are seeing the PA329CDV version. We will therefore start with the larger PA329CDV model which is a 31.5 ” sized (32″ class) QD-OLED panel with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution.

For HDR the screen has a peak brightness of 1000 nits (3% APL) and meets VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification for exceptional colour and contrast since it is built around a modern 4th Gen Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display. It also offers a 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 100% of the sRGB and 99% of the DCI-P3 colour spaces. It also offers a factory calibrated Delta E <1.5 accuracy too.

It incorporates a number of connectivity options to including DisplayPort.1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB-Type C (with 96W power delivery) and a USB Hub. There is also a built-in auto KVM switch function to allow for seamless switching two connected systems.

As we said previously we saw the smaller 27″ version (PA279CDV) at this years CES and this is almost identical in specs to the 32” version with the a 4K resolution Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel and 120Hz refresh rate. The 4K resolution on this model provides an even higher 166 PPI pixel density for a super sharp and crisp image. This model also features an improved anti-scratch film which offers 2.5x better scratch resistance than earlier gen QD-OLED panels.

The screen has a peak brightness of 1000 nits for HDR but only meets VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification which is not as bright as the 500 tier of the 32” model due to the higher pixel density, despite also using a 4th Gen QD-OLED panel. It does offer the same 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 100% of the sRGB and 99% of the DCI-P3 colour spaces. It also offers a factory calibrated Delta E <1.5 accuracy too.

Connectivity options for the 27″ model include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB Type-C (with 96W power delivery) and a USB Hub. There is also a built-in auto KVM switch function. Both the 32″ and 27″ models come ‘Calman-Ready’ and feature Asus’s DisplayWidget Centre software for easy access to OSD settings and adjustments via a mouse.
