Asus have recently unveiled their latest ProArt series monitors, aimed at professional and creative users. The ProArt PA27USD and PA32USD are 27” and 32” respectively and built around Samsung Display QD-OLED panels, boasting a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. Not only are their two sizes to choose from but they also include professional level features and modern connectivity such as hardware self/auto-calibration support, Thunderbolt 4, multiple HDR format support and even 12G-SDI connectivity to support uncompressed video signals at up to 4K at 60Hz.

In other specs these are 27” (26.5” accurate) and 32” (31.5 accurate) sized QD-OLED screens with a flat format with the PA27USD version offering 166 PPI pixel density and the PA32USD version offering 140 PPI.

They both offer a 0.1ms G2G response time spec, 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio, 178/178 viewing angles, 250 nits brightness (SDR), 10-bit colour depth with 1.07 billion colours and a wide colour gamut covering 99% of the DCI-P3, 100% of the sRGB and 100% of the Rec. 709 colour spaces. They also offer a factory calibrated Delta E<1 colour accuracy too. Adaptive-sync supports VRR situations if needed and both offer a 240Hz refresh rate.

The OLED panel makes it very well suited to HDR content creation and consumption, with support for multiple HDR formats offered here. There’s HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision compatibility. There’s also a peak brightness of 1000 nits and the QD-OLED panels offer the usual impressive contrast. Both screens come with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification as well.

The monitors are also equipped with a number of features to ensure consistent and professional grade colour accuracy across the board. This includes a built-in motorised flip colorimeter to enable auto and self-calibration, ProArt Hardware Calibration technology and the ProArt Colour Center online tool. They also come Calman-ready and supports the Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS professional hardware-calibration software too.
The screens come with a 3-year warranty and ASUS OLED Care feature set, including a proximity sensor to turn the screen off when you move away, to mitigate the risk of burn-in.

The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments and is equipped with a detachable light-shielding hood to help prevent glare on the screen. It comes with unique portability features too including different stand options and a handle so it can easily be transported and set up whilst on location.

It should also be noted that the PA27USD is available with a special edition Panaro MAX Rugged Case which is an all-in-one solution offering secure storage, anti-collision protection and enhanced portability.
Connectivity
The screens are bursting with premier connectivity options including dual Thunderbolt 4 ports (one which supports up to 96W power delivery and the other offering daisy-chain support), DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR tier not listed), and HDMI 2.1. There are also 12G-SDI inputs (one in the PA27USD and two in the PA32USD) to support uncompressed video signals at up to 4K at 60Hz, which is four times the bandwidth of standard 3G-SDI.

The screens also offer PiP/PbP support for handling multiple input sources and devices and a KVM switch function. There’s also a built-in USB 3.2 hub with 2x USB Type-A and 1x USB Type-C ports available, with 2 x 3W integrated speakers and a headphone jack for audio as well.
Availability and pricing
The ProArt PA27USD will be available to buy sometime in May with an expected pricing of $2,199 USD (or $2,599 USD for the Panaro Max Rugged Case Edition) with the ProArt PA32USD expected to be available in June for $2,699 USD.
