TCL Unveil New 2026 OLED and Mini LED Monitors, Including a 1040Hz Mini LED Gaming Display

TCL held a news conference this week in which they announced the development and upcoming launch of various new monitors, initially expected to be launched in China and perhaps then making their way to other markets to follow although that remains to be seen. The launch included some interesting new Mini LED monitors, including one with a 1040Hz refresh rate. TCL say that pre-sales for some of the screens presented commence from 5th March, although others are listed as “coming soon”. We will cover the most interesting models here:

TCL 32X3A

The main launch from the event was the company’s new OLED monitor. This is 31.5″ in size and features what TCL are referring to as an “OLED+” display offering a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. A dual-mode function supports 480Hz at 1080p as well. In other specs the screen offers a 0.03ms G2G response time spec, peak brightness of 1300 nits, 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut and a 10-bit colour depth.

TCL talk about how this so-called “OLED+” panel addresses two problems with OLED panels, those being jagged edges on text clarity due to triangular sub-pixel layouts, and issues with reflections and glare, including a purple tint under direct lighting. It seems they are specifically comparing the panel they’ve selected with QD-OLED panels, although of course Samsung Display have recently taken measures to address both issues themselves with their latest 2026 panels too.

TCL imply this is a unique panel for their monitor, although as far as we can tell from the specs and from the images they presented, it looks like it’s an LG Display WOLED panel that we’ve seen featured on many OLED monitors of this size already. True, it uses vertically oriented sub-pixels, although this will still be an RGWB layout and so text clarity challenges aren’t fully resolved, although they are improved compared with older gen WOLED panels. The increased pixel density on offer here helps too. They do promote an anti-glare coating (presumably the standard LG Display coating) for reduced glare and reflections.

It also includes a Bang & Olufsen co-designed audio system and has a super-slim design profile if the provided images are accurate. It also includes a built-in ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts screen brightness and colour temperature. Connectivity includes DP 2.1 (UHBR tier not listed), 2x HDMI 2.1, 1x USB type-C (with 90W power delivery), 1x headphone and 2x USB-A data ports.
This model is available to pre-order at CNY 5999.
TCL 27P2A Ultra

Described by TCL as a “Mini LED esports” monitor, this screen is 27″ in size and has a native 2560 x 1440 resolution and 550Hz refresh rate. A dual-mode function allows support for 1040Hz, which is expected to operate at a much lower 720p resolution like the other 1000Hz+ displays showcased at CES in January. The Mini LED backlight features TCL’s proprietary “Wanzone Partition” system although the number of dimming zones and other relevant specs are not listed at this time.

TCL also says the monitor uses their own TCL CSOT panel branded as “HFS Shoot”, which is a high-speed LCD panel (IPS-type), paired with the company’s “Tmoc Super Dynamic Sharpness” tuning. It has a 1ms G2G response time spec and 0.1ms MPRT spec, the latter suggesting the inclusion of some kind of blur reduction mode. AI Gaming features are also mentioned which will include dark-area enhancement, faster recovery after flash effects, and dynamic crosshairs. This model is listed as “coming soon” at the moment.
What is HFS panel technology?
HFS technology refers to FFS (Fringe Field Switch) technology independently developed by TCL CSOT, “H” is taken from the initials of “CSOT” (Huaxing in Chinese pinyin) and represents High Tr% Field Switching. HFS is an evolution of their FFS technology, offering improved contrast ratios reaching over 2000:1, compared with the earlier 1000:1 FFS panels.
HFS can be thought of as an “IPS-type” panel technology with TCL explaining that “both FFS and IPS utilize the rotatory properties and phase retardation effect of liquid crystal. The liquid crystal molecule rotates only in a plane and combines with POL to control the light passage. Compared with the IPS technology, FFS technology has the advantages of high aperture rate, low power consumption and low cost, especially CSOT HFS which has higher transparency and contrast than traditional FFS technology due to the unique pixel design.”

TCL 27C3A Pro

This model is another Mini LED gaming screen featuring TCL’s “Wanzone partition” backlight technology. It’s a 27″ sized screen with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution HFS Shoot panel (IPS-type) and 165Hz refresh rate, with a dual-mode function that supports 1080p at 320Hz. The Mini LED backlight will offer a peak “XDR brightness” of 2200 nits (and 1400 nits full screen) and offers 2304 local dimming zones for improved dimming control and reduced blooming and halos. It also features a Quantum Dot coating for a wide colour gamut covering 99% sRGB / 99% DCI-P3.

The panel also offers a 1ms G2G response time spec, 0.2ms MPRT spec and 10-bit colour depth. This model also includes TCL’s “Smart Entertainment” system with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos also mentioned on the slides presented, and so is being positioned as an all-in-one entertainment device suitable for streaming, gaming, movies and general usage.
Connectivity includes 2x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort, 1x USBV type-C, 1x headphone and 2x USB-A data ports. It has a fully adjustable stand with tilt, height, swivel and rotate. This model is priced at CNY 3199.
A 31.5″ sized version, the TCL 32C2A Pro is also going to be released with a 4K resolution, ‘Fast HVA’ panel (VA-type), 160Hz refresh rate, 2304 dimming zone Mini LED backlight and a 2200 nits peak brightness. That larger model will be priced at CNY 3999.
