Philips Evnia 27M2N5901A Unveiled with 27″ 4K 160Hz IPS Panel and Dual-Mode Support

Philips have launched a further gaming monitor in their Evnia series. The 27M2N5901A is 27” in size built around a Fast IPS panel. It features a 4K resolution and 160Hz refresh rate and if you want a boost for faster gaming situations a dual mode function allows you to double your refresh rate to 320Hz when dropping to a lower 1920 x 1080 resolution.

The screen is 27” in size and features a ‘Fast IPS’ technology LCD panel with a flat format. It has a native 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, 163 PPI pixel density, 1ms G2G response time spec (0.5ms MPRT spec using the MBR reduction mode), 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 nits brightness (SDR), 450 nits peak brightness (HDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 95% of the DCI-P3, 130% of the sRGB and 90% of the Adobe RGB colour spaces. It also offers a factory calibrated Delta E<2 accuracy too. Adaptive-sync supports VRR gaming situations.
Gaming features include Smart Crosshair, Stark ShadowBoost and Smart Sniper. The Evnia Precision Centre software allows users to maximise their gaming experience to reflect their gaming style using a range of easy-to-use options.

It also features Philips AI-enhanced Ambiglow lighting, which ensures that the emitting lights adapt to the colours on the screen, providing the user with a more immersive experience. Flicker-Free and LowBlue Mode help reduce fatigue during long sessions of work or play and the ergonomic stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments.

Connectivity
For connectivity there are 2x HDMI 2.1 connections, 1x DisplayPort 1.4 and 1x USB Type-C (with DP Alt mode, data and 65W power delivery). In addition, there is a built-in USB hub and a KVM switch. There is also 2x 5W built-in speakers, a headphone jack and PiP/PbP support for handling multiple devices.

Availability and pricing
The screen is expected to be released in early October at a MSRP of £329.00.
