AOC Gaming U27G4R Launched with 27” 4K 160Hz IPS Panel and ‘Dual-frame’ Technology

AOC have introduced a new gaming monitor in their G4 series. The AOC Gaming U27G4R features a 27” sized ‘Fast-IPS’ LCD display with a 3840 x 2160 “4K”, a 160Hz native refresh rate and support for a “dual-frame” technology. This is AOC’s name for a fairly familiar “dual-mode” function we’ve seen on an increasing number of monitors over the last year or so. With the click of a button this feature allows users to drop down to a lower FHD 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080), and boost the refresh rate up to 320Hz. This is the first of its kind monitor in the AOC line-up and will appeal to gamers who regularly switch between immersive and fast based competitive play games.

AOC GAMING U27G4R Specs
The screen is 27” in size and built around a ‘Fast IPS’ panel. It offers a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, a 163 PPI pixel density, a 1ms G2G response time spec, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 nits brightness (SDR), 178/178 viewing angles, 8-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 95.9% of the DCI-P3, 124.7% of the sRGB and 93.4% of the Adobe RGB colour spaces.
The high refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync technology for VRR from compatible systems. Other gaming features include their G-Menu software, and various settings including Shadow Control, frame rate counter, Crosshairs and a Motion Blur Reduction mode (with 0.5ms MPRT spec).
The stand offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments

Connectivity
For connectivity there is 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, a 4-port USB hub and headphone jack. It also includes PiP/PbP support to handle multiple video inputs,.
Pricing and Availability
The AOC GAMING U27G4R is available from some regions already on Amazon (affiliate link) and is priced in the UK at £379 GBP.
