For Computex 2024, Acer have today announced their new Acer Predator X32 X3 gaming monitor. It’s a 32″ (accurately 31.5″) display with a dual-mode WOLED panel that supports 4K 240Hz, or 1080p 480Hz. It’s a competing model to screens already announced by LG (32GS95UE) and Asus (ROG Swift PG32UCDP) for instance. It gives gamers the flexibility to prioritise resolution and image detail in 4K mode, or frame rates and pure speed in 1080p mode if they would rather.

Acer Predator X32 X3 Specs

The screen is 31.5″ in size and built around an LG.Display WOLED panel. It has a flat format, 3840 x 2160 resolution, 0.03ms G2G response time, 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio, 275 nits peak brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, a 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3.#

The high 240Hz/480Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates (VRR) from compatible systems, with the screen being certified under the AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA ‘G-sync Compatible’ schemes.

For HDR the OLED panel offers the usual per-pixel level dimming, true blacks and basically infinite contrast ratio (subject to ambient lighting conditions). Acer list a peak brightness spec of 1000 nits (3% APL).

Connectivity and other features

For connectivity the screen has 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), 1x USB type-C connectivity (with DP Alt mode, data and 90W power delivery) and 2x HDMI 2.1 ports (capabilities not listed). 3x USB-A ports, an additional 1x USB-C data port and an audio output are also offered.

For maximum comfort, the new monitor offers adjustable tilt, swivel, and height, allowing gamers to find the perfect viewing angle for any environment. It also comes with modest 2x 5W integrated speakers, and a built-in KVM switch to effortlessly switch between two PCs with a single keyboard and mouse setup. With eye comfort in mind, the screen features ‘BlueLightShield Pro’, flickerless, low-dimming, and ‘ComfyView’ technologies to help prevent eye fatigue.

OLED Care

Acer has also implemented several OLED screen protection mechanisms to help extend the monitor’s lifespan and maintain image quality; Display Saver (always on) for automatic dimming when the screen is inactive, Constant Brightness (which seems to be a uniform brightness mode), plus Image Retention Refresh and Screen Move (always on) to minimize stuck pixels and images.

Pricing and Availability

The Predator X32 X3 will be available in North America in Q4, starting at USD $1,199.99; in EMEA in Q4, starting at EUR 1,399, and in China in Q4, starting at RMB 7,999.
