Acer Announce Two New QD-OLED Predator Gaming Monitors with 240Hz Refresh Rates

Acer have recently announced two new monitors in their popular Predator gaming line-up. The Predator X32 X2 and Predator X27U X1 are 32″ and 27″ in size respectively and feature QD-OLED panels with a 240Hz refresh rate. The 32″ model has a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution, while the smaller 27″ model has a typical 2560 x 1440 resolution.

The new models offer a 0.03ms G2G response time, 1.5 million: contrast ratio, 250 nits brightness (SDR) 175/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 99% DCI-P3. The 240Hz native refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for VRR from compatible systems, with certification under the AMD ‘FreeSync Premium Pro’ scheme achieved.

They are certified under the VESA ‘DisplayHDR 400 True Black’ tier, with a peak brightness spec of 1000 nits (3% APL).

X27U X1

The new monitors offer 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC) and 2x HDMI 2.1 connections, with the stand offering tilt, height and swivel adjustments. Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture functionalities further enhance multitasking capabilities, making these monitors versatile options for both gaming and work. Some basic 2x 2W speakers are built in to the 32″ model, while the 27″ has slightly more powerful 2x 5W speakers. Both also offer an audio out connection.

Pricing and availability

The Predator X32 X2 will be available in North America in June, starting at USD 999.99; in EMEA in August, starting at EUR 1,199, GBP from £999, and in China in Q2, starting at RMB 5,999,

The Predator X27U X1 is now available in North America, starting at USD 599.99; in EMEA in June, starting at EUR 699, in the UK in April, GBP starting at £699, and in China in March, starting at RMB 3,999.
