RCA Enter the Monitor Market with the Evolution Premium M27PG135F 240Hz Monitor
RCA are a long-established American electronics company who are now looking to get in to the monitor market. They’ve recently launched their first two monitors, headlined by the new RCA Evolution Premium (model name M27PG135F) which is a 27″ sized screen with a 1440p resolution, 240Hz refresh rate and USB type-C connectivity. It’s aimed primarily at gamers. There’s also the RCA Evolution Standard (model M27SG134F) with a lower 165Hz refresh rate and without the USB-C connection.
RCA Evolution Premium M27PG135F Specs
The new screen offers a 27″ IPS-type panel with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 1ms G2G response time spec, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit colour depth and a wide colour gamut covering 95% of the DCI-P3 colour space. It’s high 240Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates (VRR) and includes a 48 – 240Hz range with LFC.
The stand provides tilt, height and rotate adjustments. For connectivity there are 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x USB type-C (with DP Alt mode and 90W power delivery), 2x HDMI 2.0 and 2x USB data ports. There’s a headphone jack as well as integrated stereo speakers for audio. KVM functionality is also supported, as seems to be the norm nowadays.
Pricing and Availability
The M27PG135F is listed for ~$430 USD. A lower refresh rate 165Hz variant without USB-C is also listed, the Evolution Standard M27SG134F for ~$300 USD.
