Philips Unveil the World’s First Triple-Mode Fast IPS Gaming Monitors
Philips have recently debuted the world’s first Triple-Mode ‘Fast IPS’ gaming monitors. The 27M4N3500PT and the 27M4N3500PT, part of their Evnia M4 line-up, are both 27” ‘Fast IPS’ panels with a native 2560 x 1440 resolution and 275Hz refresh rate (overclocked). A triple-mode function means you can switch this to 1920 x 1080 (1080p) resolution at 360Hz or 1280 x 720 (720p) at an overclocked 540Hz depending on your gaming scenario.

Information is very scarce at this time but we can tell you that these 27” ‘Fast IPS’ panels will feature an anti-glare coating and will offer 350 nits brightness. They are also set to include a number of gaming enhancements such as Stark Shadow Boost, Smart Crosshair, Smart Sniper and Smart MBR Sync – which from the name should offer a strobing blur reduction mode which sounds like it should work at the same time as VRR.
Low Blue Light and Flicker-free technologies are included minimise eye strain during those long gaming sessions. Connectivity will include DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 but no further information is available at this time.
The main difference in the two models as far as we can tell at this time, is the 27M4N5500PT comes with their premium aesthetic SmartErgoBase stand which offers a full range of tilt, height, swivel and rotate adjustments. It also introduces the new Evnia AI gaming icon glow light on the rear panel.
